I finally decided to swap in the ultimate taurus/volvo fan. This thing is powerful and has no problems cooling off my 351W. It should blow 4500 cfm. If you found this video helpful or would like help fund future experiments. please donate below.

Well made video! I’ve seen in a few videos of this conversation, that the fan performs the best with 1” space between it and the radiator.

Around here we cut 1/2 pvc pipe chunks between fan mounts and radiator and use plastic barbed push pins to mount to radiator not worrying about the fan drawing From every corner. No problems yet

Great DIY Video on the fan and shroud. Do you have a link to physical specifications of the fan you used? I'm looking for actual OEM part numbers, width both the fan to include the flange and the fan blades, the depth of the unit to include overall depth, depth on either side of the flange.

Amazing video!!! I'm running the same set up as you but in a 65 mustang. And she too runs too hot for my liking. Few questions. Are you running a holley sniper? And if soo how did you connect the fan to it and how did you get the tablet connected to your hand held?

I was running holley terminator. Now multi port with same holley computer. I ran the volvo relay to my holley fan outputs.

did you connect the fan control wire from the efi straight to the volvo trigger wire?

Yes, I thought about fusing it but I thought It would be OK since the ECU is providing a ground output.

4:37 If I don't have the relay pack and I connect the red and green wire directly to the battery the fan will run on high, is that correct?

I have the Mark VIII fan, Volvo controller, and BMW thermal switch. My fan doesn't blow as hard as those fans. I already try another fan from a Thunderbird and made it worse. Running a 100 amp 12SI alternator. Not sure what I am doing wrong. This is the schematic I used... nastyz28.com/threads/budget-dual-fan-controller-setup-taurus-fan-setup.200028/page-36#post-3522593

Interesting enough that fan seems like it has a lot of power until you see a 600 watt Mercedes fan in action, then that Volvo fan seems like one of the cheap eBay fans. kzbin.info/www/bejne/oXjcnaKrhN2JgpI

@@fintechrepairshop I had the alternator upgrade before the fan install, so I never felt any stumbling even with sitting and idling. However, I did have my battery drain. I ended up adding a second battery: AGM to run everything and a completely isolated SLA that is only connected to the starter so no matter what the car will always start. I also wired the fan and the electric water pump to turn on @ 100*C with the engine off to avoid heat sink. It usually brings the temps down within 5-7 mins and then shuts itself off. I'm in socal desert so that last step is necessary to keep the engine from spiking at 120*C in the red once I shut it down after driving.
