Great vids lee and Robbie! Love the budget beginner vids and gear explanations. I’ve been fishing my whole life but never for musky. A whole new world of fishing for me. Thanks guys for your efforts and showing the fishing community this still growing sport. I watch regularly not to see your biggest fish but to learn from your fish encounters. Cheers guys.

Great stuff. Muskies are the way to go. Caught only 4 muskies in my life. One was 48 inches but the other 3 were only 30-35 inches. The 48 incher came from Lake Arthur in Butler county, Pennsylvania in the 80s. I actually nailed it while slow trolling a black, Suick jerk bait about 2-3 feet below the surface. It hit hard but didn't fight much, as I recall. I released it to live and fight again. We had no luck all day so out of sheer frustration, I put on a jerkbait as we slowly trolled back to the dock. It hit about 200 feet from the dock in 15 feet of water. You never forget your biggest musky.

Similar experience for me. I’ve only caught 5. The first: pan fishing and 4” long; the second: after a boil near my boat while pan fishing. I had a few larger baits, threw every one and on my last bait (a jointed black and gold Rappala) it hit. (33”s); the third: while pan fishing (26”s); the fourth: while in a Muskie tournament in 2016 (44 1/2”, about 20#s) and the last while pan fishing just this week (4”s). Just like you I’ve never forgotten the thrill and pray I won’t. God Bless!

Got three muskies last Thursday in my kayak two 34 s and 38 here in Hoosier land alot fun high flyers. Haven't had a three ski day in a very long time. My goal is a Hoosier 50. So far almost 20 yesrs and waiting. Took 16 years for Wisconsin 50, so Robbie keep after her.
@larrystolzman93374 жыл бұрын
Hi Robbie: As much as I like watching you catch Muskies (and I will always watch your channel) my personal goal is to catch a Bluegill over 11 inches. I’ve caught 5 large gills in the past few years. Two 10s, a 10 1/2, a 10 3/4, and an 11. The first one I kept (really stupid) the rest are still swimming. My long term goal is one over 12. At 71, I may not be able to do that, but I plan to try until I can’t. Maybe a big Muskie will bite my red worm. 🙏🙏🙏 Stay safe and reach your goal. God Bless!

Congrats to Chris on the nice monkeys. After a one musky year last year my goal this year was to get some numbers and two over 40”. I got the numbers (10 and 2 on flies) but no fish over 40” yet so for fall I’m shifting focus to try and get quality fish. I just started using suckers for the first time so that should help the quest.

@7:25 You watch the slo mo of the release shot as the fish swims off and pay attention to her tail as she moves and it is amazing the amount of water she pushes as she swims. That's some green algae stained water. Pretty thick bloom. Reminds me of Sabaskong Bay in August.

Hey TA I have a question. So everywhere I read wether it’s the Musky Hunter magazine or watching KZbin people talk about the pre turnover period fishing shallow weeds and rocks still. I would think that would work on all lakes but my lake (and you may be able to guess which lake I’m referring to) the bait fish ( Bluegills, perch etc.) are deep like 20-40 feet. So in that sense should I continue to throw shallow even if I’m not seeing much or should I start fishing deep and jig and throw rubber?
@TodaysAngler4 жыл бұрын
Every lakes different. Maybe fish stay deeper on your lake. Hard to say they an be different every day.
