You don't have to start fertilizing plants until their first set of true leaves grow. All those packets of bell peppers are the same type of pepper. The blend packets usually have mostly the main color with a few of the other colors. You would fair better buying the colors seperately to be sure you get them. You can also plant the seeds from the peppers you purchase in the supermarket.
@HairstonFamilyHomestead13 күн бұрын
Tracking about the fertilizer…never tried this way just wanted to try….nothing wrong with that. I am also aware that most of the peppers as far as bell peppers are the same. I opted to use different ones in case the seed pack did not germinate. Specific colors isn’t really a concern, if they come they come, if not, they don’t. Won’t matter either way. I love trying new things and different techniques it’s truly about learning. Honestly, I can’t remember the last time I purchased a pepper from the store. Maybe two years ago. I just prefer to grow my own and save what I can from my harvest. Thanks!

I agree with you. 👏🏾👏🏾I’m learning that everything concerning gardening is not in stone (of course the fundamentals are necessary, ex: good soil, spacing ect). But do what works for you (do your own research) and experiment if you want to. I keep a garden journal so I tracked my success & failures for next time. Everyone will always give their opinions, but I still research and do it my way. I learned this from Asia Yellow door channel and other seasoned gardener folks who give good advice on the comments . So many gardener content creators on KZbin are rigid. For me the purpose of gardening for me is to enjoy growing food & flowers, and it’s therapeutic. ❤ So do what works best for YOU. God bless!

@@HairstonFamilyHomestead Ok cool. I was about to put them up! I used heat mats last year and got great germination. I also follow the Millennial Gardner and he uses them. Happy growing y’all!!!

It's best if you use warm water. The pods will swell quicker and they will be warm which will help the seeds germinate faster. The packet is to fertilize the plants after germination. Don't add at seed planting.
@HairstonFamilyHomestead13 күн бұрын
@@alfredawoods9949 Good morning! we used warm water from the faucet. I wanted to try it during the germination process this time around. Normally we wouldn’t but it’s just my little experiment.
