Isn't it amazing how effective ice fishing is? When you think about it, you've got 8 or 10" of a big lake to fish vertically. It's hard enough to catch fish in with a boat when you got the whole damn lake to run around on. Yet we sling 'em in one after another. I'm still fishing cold, open water here at the eastern base of the Rockies, tough fishing for walleye. But up in the high country on new ice, the fishing's on fire! 60-fish days on the same lake you'd fish all day in the summer for a half dozen trout. People who don't know any better think we're idiots out there but it's great fishing. Can't wait to get some burbot going at Flaming Gorge! Best fresh water eating fish there is, caught and cooked fresh. Enjoyed the video as always, you guys have a good time out there. That's what it's all about.
