Georgia's 2024 team is the most talented squad in Kirby's tenure per the 247 composite and they are returning the #7 rated QB from last season (Carson Beck QBR: 167.9) Clemson is #5 in the talent composite, but they have been consistently since 2021 with nothing to show for it so far, and they are returning the #94 rated QB from last season (Cade Klubnik QBR 126.3) Clemson has the talent to make this a game, but do they have the coaching? Which of these coaching staff merits the pregame hype? The Vegas line is 13 points right now. I think it's closer than that, but what makes you think Clemson deserves hype and Georgia is getting too much?

@@leeption1able I think that is a big part of the problem - the ACC was a hideous 5 on the Sub-Vandy index (teams with less talent than Vandy per the 247 composite), and Clemson lost one of those (Duke), and went to the wire at home against another (Wake Forest). Now admit it, if Georgia took a Top 5 roster and went 8-4 including a 17-12 win at home over Vandy you'd be howling with laughter and saying Kirby Smart has lost his edge.

In fact that Clemson team is the only one at least 20 years to win the title without a scoring offense or defense that finished in the Top 10. Rod Robinson isn’t playing and quite possibly Etienne will be suspended in this game. If that’s the case, UGA will lean on an inexperienced RB coming off of injury and a walk on to carry the load. Plus their top 2 options at C receiver are hurt/no longer with the team. Offense may just start slow as they cope with losing McConkey, Bowers, and their current injuries/suspensions.

Florida State lost because they’re an overrated ACC team, just like Clemson. Georgia Tech is underrated compared to FSU or Clemson because people think some sort of gap exists between the mid-upper tier of the ACC, when in reality there is no gap & the ACC isn’t even better than the Big 12 this season.
