Overall I prefer the Face to Face version for everything except the closing monologue for Nervous Young Inhumans (as I like it being more meta). I appreciate Will's effort on Mirror to Mirror as that was still a good album but I think it was ultimately too ambitious for the resources he had, and the recording style on the original with everything drowned in reverb is not my cup of tea. I think the production and the extra layers added by Face to Face (such as the synth part in Cute Thing, and making everything sound bigger and fuller rather than it sounding like you're sitting at the corner of an empty room while will plays from the other corner) really did Twin Fantasy justice. What I do really like about Mirror to Mirror is that it's inspirational, it shows you don't need to have ridiculous equipment or an expert producer by your side to make a great album. But that's just my opinion :)

@@Desman1835 i think it just comes down to taste. i LOVEEEE the 2011 nervous young inhumans, i know the whole discography and it’s one of my fav songs. i think the face to face version is by far the worst face to face song. i think high to death is one of the best face to face versions, because the mirror to mirror is veryyy distorted and echoing, a bit hard to listen to IMO lol. but i prefer the closing track on mtm, intro track as well. for beach life in death, there’s parts i like of both versions. the longer “dogsssss” part, and the way it excels in the “there are lots of fish left in the sea” part are both great in the 2018 version, but the first “last night i dreamed he was trying to kill you” hits way better in the 2011 version. both have their pros and cons. cute thing is the weakest track on the album in my opinion, but still both version are better in different areas. overall, i prefer mirror to mirror. it just feels more raw and authentic in a lot of ways. though, i think it’s insightful to more of where will is at now to try and understand why he made all the changes that he made. however, i do think that Famous Prophets (Stars) is one of the best songs of all time. i still love the 2011 version; but i think this song lends the best to a cleaner, more coherent and tight sound. i really think it’s just down to taste which one you enjoy the most 👍🏼 and it can change over time. my favorite CSH album, and prob favorite album of all time is How to Leave Town.

@Natas yeah, I agree its down to taste and I appreciate you sharing your viewpoint, I'll try to listen to MTM soon again and see if it hits different now that I have some new ways to look at it. Personally Twin Fantasy is also my favorite, and I haven't gone through CSH's full discography, only Twin Fantasy, Teens of Denial and Teens of Style, Teens of Style is the weakest but I still liked it

I would manly recommend listening to the albums how to leave town and nervous young man, also the living while starving EP is very good. also monomania is great, more or less a successor to twin fantasy
