Great video, I wish we had striped bass out here in western NY. One of these days I'll have to take the trip to the New York City area and see if I can actually catch one. As for the bigger fish, Greg Blanchard has done some videos where he has caught a bunch of stripers on the delta while using a large swimbait in the early morning out on his kayak. It looked like it was about a 5-6 Inch swimbait, some sort of a weighted semi weedless setup. When they group up and start hitting near the surface that seems like the best time to target.

Just watched this and thought pretty cool. I've had good luck with large fresh shad, and I get a pack of crawlers and fish for gobies, on the down time. A live gobie, will get the big ones. Then you'll have a kick butt fight. They like to run one way and then the other to snap your line. Just real in the line when it goes slack. They are in there. Bigger bait bigger fish.

If ur in a spot where u are catching small ones there is bound to be a big one that comes thru eventually, just keep it up!!! Also try chicken livers for tons of scent just wrap it well with the magic thread and ur good. U can chum in the delta waters might wanna try that out , just a hand ful of anchovies cut up in small pieces tossed into the current every half hour helps wonders. Scent trail....scent trail!

Pretty cool video G. Still blown away that they eat frozen anchovies. I know the lake Stripers taste good. Always heard the salty ones are better. I got to try shore pounding for them. Most of the striper lakes here are not kayak friendly. And they are a chain so the whole zebra mussel thing makes it really complicated to get a boat in. Dope striper action. Maybe try a 5” paddle tail on a 1/2oz-1oz jig head. White is rumored to be the ticket for larger fish. 💣🚶 💣 💣 🦨 🔥 💪🏻 🤙🏻

Wonderful intro, little clips of your days start! I'm not a real dog fan, while my wife is but, that was soo cute! Good idea also, interesting perspective and just cute. That first Striper sure seemed larger on that pole. Looked like an enjoyable fight! Always sweet catching a bell go off on film, tripod also! Funny about those spikes the Stripers, Bass & Sunfish have. When they put them up I always comment "they've went into battle mode". Proceed at our own risk! Enjoy Striper fishing! Oh that soft sand beach what the heck? I'm always stuck on deadly rock banks heh. Haha the dog swim cam was cool! If I may on catching a Keeper Striper. We're also still dealing with that. We have caught a FEW. We had heard that one good idea is the casting of either/or Larger Lures, Larger Baits, Live Baits also been suggested using Pile Worms, Grass Shrimp. So far for us upgrading the hook size doubling up Anchovies has helped. We feel still need to use more Larger Lures. Recon Jerkbaits, A-Rigs perhaps Crankbaits. Also if you see any boiling, then perhaps Top Water Poppers or the like. Hope this helps and may save lots of money. Still one time I safe give a charter a go. Would be too costly too often. Another great video! Ken & Lea
@girlfinfishingАй бұрын
Glad you enjoyed it. Yeah, the first thing me I almost thought was a keeper. I always like watching other people rods go off in their videos, so I thought it would be a cool add. Those striper spikes are scary. If you are fishing the bay or delta I know the rocky banks you are talking about. Got to be careful. Appreciate all the recommendations. I’m definitely throwing some lures next time. Also, I’m going to try a different area. The bite is better in the delta or near Rio vista from what I have heard. I figured a charter wouldn’t be a bad idea if I wanted to learn some new techniques or figure out some different areas to fish.
@hershisadventuresincalifor9725Ай бұрын
@@girlfinfishing yeah seemed like a nice one! The Striper spikes are! Once you and we hook onto a nice 10lb or 20lber those spike will be like spears! Hard keeping film running whole time. So catching the bites as they happen, not so easy. Always looks sweet! Also displaying the fish (as you did) and filming the release. Yeah dang nasty Delta rocks the same ones. Charter and trying new Delta stuff both sound good. You'll get one, can't wait till we get out next keeper! Tacos it is!

They are like steaks. Firm meat when cooked, clean taste. I don’t know why, but the only bait I know that catches big fish are Pile worms/Blood worms as well as live bluegills consistently in Sacramento. Catch a mudsucker or a 4 inch bluegill, I bet you will get your PB in a month.

Nice! They are still in the river! Been trying San Pablo the last couple weeks…nothing so far.

They are definitely still in there, and everyone says they will be moving in more in the fall to feed on bait fish.

I know it’s been said before but I have caught keeper striped bass mornings and early evenings as the sun is setting. If you have the rod stamp, you can set one rod for bait and use the second for lures such as rattle traps and 110 Lucky Craft lures. Any artificial whether if it’s floating or sinking as long as it has good action will work as long as you vary your retrieve

I do have a two rod license, so I’ll give that a try next time. Appreciate the tips. Thank you 😊

Great fishing! A charter seems like a good idea, I normally do it a couple of times a year for european sea bass, which is quite similar to the stripers.

Thank you. Yeah, I think it might help me pick up on some new techniques and land a keeper 💪🏻 I’ll have to look up a European sea bass. 🧐

@girlfinfishing haha yeah have a look they just don't get as big, I think the biggest they get is over 20lb. And they don't have stripes 😅

Nice to see a new face. A pretty face at that. Went out to Freeport yesterday snd threw lures all day. Finally gave up and soaked some shad from Reggie's bait. Caught a 27 inch and a 22 inch striped. 22 inch ended up as dinner since he swallowed the hook.
@girlfinfishingАй бұрын
Yeah, I’ve caught a couple of dinks on the spook and a popper, but nothing big on a lure yet. A 27in and 22in is awesome! Great job 😎 🎣 Appreciate you watching. 😊
