Amazing. Nice spot. Laughed at the comment from another viewer about a tattoo. 😂😂

It was a cool swim spot, I've been eyeing it up when working in the area for a few year, so snatched the opportunity when it came by! No tattoo, but could see what Mary was saying! Haha! Hope you're well x

Rachel, that church right on the water… what a stunning spot!! I’ve never seen anything like it before. Also, now don’t laugh… but at 4:50 I thought you were perhaps revealing a new chest tattoo, then I realized it was the needly branches from a small tree that you were standing behind. Your swim looked relaxing and invigorating!! I love the old glass in the windows of that church… such character!! I just wanted to let you know, I have not forsaken you nor your channel… I am taking some post-graduate online courses and it’s been 37 years since I last attended university. YOWZA!! Everything has changed during the past almost-four decades. When I last went to university it was lecture halls, blackboards, typewriters, and microfiche. Computers and the internet have certainly changed academia. Of course, everybody in my course is less than half my age and extremely tech savvy. It is a vertiginous learning curve for me!!! With that said, my free time is next to nil, but I will always make time for all things wild swimming. The weather here is unseasonably mild and we did not get much snow this winter. You know what that means? YUP, the lakes should be open sooner than usual. Thanks for sharing your lovely swim and that beautiful church with us today. Ⓜary🏊♀💦

Hey Mary, no tattoo to report, but I can see what you mean and you set @muddyboots2531 off chuckling too. Good on you doing some more studying, that must be a real shock to the system. Great to hear the water willl be swimmable earlier than usual, and hope you can find time for a little float about x

Rutland Water quite close to where I live in Leicester. I love it there. There are a couple of submerged villages underneath! Massive environmental project way back. I've stayed at that hotel too! Thank you Rachel

I have always been pretty good at getting up early especially if there’s something to do so for. A dip before work did it for me on this occasion. Also was hoping for a sunrise!

Love Rutland water. Spent many days there windsurfing and sailing. Also got hyperthermia once winds changed from F2 to F5 in a few minutes..not funny on my board! Lived to tell the tale. Your swim looked magnificent!

Thank you Rachel. I've had to miss my swim this week because I've come down with a flu type bug. Me and my swim buddy have swum at least once a week every week this year so far. We ended last year with a santa hat swim on Christmas day and started the year with a sunrise swim on new years day. We have also discovered a wonderful woodfired sauna with plunge pool only a forty minute drive away and been twice already this year. I'm also still ticking off the blue tonic challenges. It has been so important in keeping my mental and physical health in a better place. Your pre breakfast swim looked fabulous 👌 💙💦

Regarding eating after a cold water swim, should you wait until your body is back to not feeling cold? I thought that while your body is working on warming up after the cold swim, you don’t want to disturb the process adding the digestion process. Please let me know your experiences, good and bad, recommendations, etc., eating after cold water swimming. Thank you.

I’ve had no issues. It was probably 40 mins between getting out, walking back, showering and breakkie. Even swimming an having breakfast on the beach I’ve had no issues. When dipping I stay in for 10 mins or less to stay safe.
@Roo-s_Life10 ай бұрын
@ealban0215 I always have a hot drink and a snack as soon as I get out of the water and never had any issues. If anything I feel it helps to warm up 😊
@mairead589110 ай бұрын
The best way to warm up is a brisk walk back to your car (parked further away just for this purpose) or home. Then eat!

😂 😂Cold armpits? Insidious creep beneath the boobs? chilly 'bits'? Us chaps get the full monty from square one... wearing just speedos gives us no torso protection and 'exo-bits' suffer badly too! Being landlocked, a warm sea-swim is not an option, & the smaller the pond, the colder they seem🥶. Gr8 vid.
