The trail is definitely worth the views, but the cave is the real highlight. It was hard to imagine being the first person to explore it by candlelight or no light at all! It really is an amazing cave! Have you been? The lantern light experience was really cool, almost like when they explored the cave by candlelight. Thanks for taking a look and commenting! @ >> Haven’t been! I’m too disabled now. I went to Carlsbad Caverns many years ago and they have an undeveloped area called New Cave, which was cool! The big discovery at that National Park was Lechuguilla Cave, called the Jewel of the Underground, for good reason. They won’t let people in much but you can get picture books!

@ oh I’m so sorry! I went to Carlsbad when I was 9, so 40 years ago! It was amazing…want to go back. The discovery sounds amazing! Appreciate the info!
