Great video, in my home turf that I miss very, very much and hope to back in soon. Well-filmed and narrated. One larger concern I noted: how was it appropriate to be taking skyline shots on that moose when you couldn't see where the rounds might land if you missed? Not what I remember from the hunter's safety course and the CFSC....

That is a good concern to have. There is one thing that I considered, and that fact is the distance the bullets would have had to travel to be even remotely close to anyone. Considering where we were, and the cannon I was using as a rifle. But with that being said, it was by all means an unsafe practice at the end of the day because you never know. I’m glad that I was able to land all 3 shots on the moose. Thanks for watching, I’m glad you enjoyed the video.

Great hunt. How many people are you feeding lol? You want a mule deer buck on top of a moose, whitetail, and bear??

Congrats on the moose! I’ve killed a few in NF. There’s nothing like standing over a bull moose. And there’s nothing like packing them out either. 🤣🤣

Thank you, I couldn’t agree with you more, that was certainly a heavy pack out. Thanks for watching!

Im totally open for being wrong but that didn't look like a spike fork moose to me. I thought one side had to have at least two points. Cant see two in this vid.
@truetineoutdoors Жыл бұрын
Hey I get what you mean, one side actually had two points but it was hard to see in the video. But in fact the immature moose does not need to have at least two points on one side. The book specifically states that it is a moose with no more than two points on one antler (as long as it is not a calf). So it could be a moose with 1 spike coming out of one side and that’s it. I actually harvested a moose exactly like that in November of 2021. One spike out of one side and nothing on the other. The antler was completely broken off, in fact it looked almost shed, which was interesting.
