Early October Crickets, Tree Crickets, Katydids black screen to sleep & relax 10 hour cricket sounds

For the last two weeks of my mom's life, I was caregiver to her and had to work "night shift" at her house (10pm - 9am). My home office got moved to her living room so I could continue to work my job while still seeing to her needs. The living room window was always open and the sounds of crickets and katydids filled the room as I worked. She passed away in early October of 2021. How ironic that this video was recorded during that same time period! Hearing this makes me think of her, and it brings back the happy memories of growing up in that house, sitting on the porch on a warm summer evening, lying in bed late at night with the window open listening to the nighttime sounds. Thank you for this!

I am tired and old, This reminds me summer nights as a child living in the hills. There was no air conditioning. Contrary to belief it is not much cooler there in the summer. I hate silence at night. This is the best cricket/katydid soundscape on KZbin so far, hands down. It seems a lot of people making videos don't get that the cricket speed and frequency lowers as the temperature drops, which results in a much more lulling experience to go to sleep to! This is the only video that throws me (gently) back into my childhood, walking up a low mountain path, damp brown leaves gathering at the sides, big oaks arching overhead, while I scour the periphery for toads on my way to the big group bonfire at the last camping trip of the year-age 11.

I found crickets sounds to help me sleep when tinnitus acts up at night. I've tried several recordings on youtube for the real sounds; the ones I remember during open-window nights or while camping in the NC mountains. Last night I found this and immediately knew there was something different in your recordings. This IS the sound of nature!! I slept rock solid last night, tinnitus and all. Something I rarely do. The Katydids have retreated to the treeline. I can sleep peacefully without any sitting on my windowsill shrieking at me and waking me up. I didn't want to kill the Katydids but I have enough hearing loss. I heard playing sounds of non local Katydids would confuse them or scare them off. It worked for me. Dead silence for roughly 30 minutes or so and they retreated far enough away I am good. If they climb on the windowsill or the bushes near my bedroom again I will consider it a violation of the nap between me and grasshoppers.

Oops! Errant pinky "sent" before I finished my thots! Soo...I had played all night, (So often do!)...Up early...left playing while had coffee...thot I would read "Comments"...Read my own last comment loving it...Not realizing it was mine!...Looked up to find "sender"...It was ME!...(unsure why my 4 month old came up "first" when much more recent followed!)...At the risk of "waxing too eloquent"...This...(These)...Rain and thunder another one)...are "LIFESAVERS!!!" for me!...(I won't explain all the reasons)...Suffice to say are "myriad!"...BIg loving hugs to ALL involved in creating these recordings/videos!...The same for all troubled souls!...More LOVE in the WORLD!...PLEASE!!!❤🧡💛

Many in comments here and elsewhere have found recordings of crickets to relieve tinnitus. This channel @NatureSleepSerenity has many recordings of crickets katydids frogs, you might find one of just the right frequency, or try adjusting the speed or volume of this one. My tinnitus is quite mild such that I generally don't notice it. On rare occasions it will momentarily cease completely which IS noticeable. Wishing you find some relief.

I have been using this wonderful soundtrack to aid me in peaceful sleep over several months. Now, however, after six hours, there is a commercial break that wakes me up! So disappointed!

Sorry for your experience. I have no control over that unfortunately, that's KZbin placing the ad, not me. I never ever place ads in the middle of a video. I am a poor sleeper myself and understand your frustration. But please know that has nothing to do with me. KZbin can arbitrarily place ads wherever they want in the video whenever they want, regardless of any settings you have as the creator. It is one of my biggest frustrations as well.

Hello Dana and thank you for stopping by. Just a short word about this. My channel had been monetized before, and at that point I only placed ads at the very beginning of videos. Never want to disturb anybody after they started relaxing. KZbin revoked monetization claiming my content is reused (someone else's) which is false. However, despite this, KZbin sometimes places add on videos arbitrarily, which I have no control of. All of that said, you probably stand the least chance of an ad on this channel versus anywhere else.

I'm sorry to hear that my friend. Unfortunately, I have nothing to do with commercials in the middle of videos. I only ever allow them at the beginning, or very end, to avoid this very problem. I specifically set them all that way. However, KZbin can place ads wherever they want and are unfortunately known for doing this in the middle of longform videos against the wishes of the channel (me), and obviously people like yourself. Just so you are aware, it is the powers that be that I am powerless against.

@@DebHarpster of course. I've read of other experiences happening to creators with long form content. I guess the thought is if you want no ads, they want you to buy KZbin premium. At some point this year I will be working on uploading everything I have to music streaming platforms as well. I will let everyone know with a community post when that happens.
