The timing to begin this sequence break is specific. If you escape the triclops too fast, that's a "normal" escape and won't activate the triclops instant launch glitch. (You'll be able to tell by the animation; a normal escape causes it to shudder after dropping you, a late escape shows the spitting animation, as seen here.)

I've gotten clip through the wall a few times, but I always end up falling to the abyss :( Edit: Finally got it to work after hours of trying. I can finally do it consistently too. Tutorial helped a lot thanks!!

nobody runs prime because people have already destroyed it in years past. Not really competitive when you have so many OOB glitches they use. Makes the speed running boring AF to watch. Half the time the viewers have no clue whats actually going on due to weird camera angles and such.. Go watch a WR run for Metroid Prime original. Youll see what I mean. Completely different animal to watching people run SM on Snes Or even Dread.

Honestly the one thing I don't care for in this game is the lack of developer-intended sequence breaks. Kinda sucks that you have to learn difficult and clearly unintended tricks like this to get some variety in subsequent playthroughs. It's not a knock against the game, it's just something that makes me appreciate some of the 2D games even more.

For me it's the opposite. I like stuff like this because it's challenging and you have to put more effort into learning them, but once you know how to pull them off it feels way better then in the other games

Has anyone managed to climb Phendrana's Edge without Grapple in Remastered? The only method I knew was with an L jump and those obviously don't work anymore. That power bomb expansion wouldn't be quite as early but one could grab it after the Hydra Lab at least, and it wouldn't require learning an annoying out of bounds trick.

Afaik it is possible to get up there, but that'd require a very hard out of bounds movement.

@@Samura1man Ugh, I hate out of bounds. The fact that you could do so much _without_ it was one of the reasons I love the original Prime 1. Here's hoping Randovania will do Remastered support in the future and restore the climbable geometry or something. The visual overhaul in Remastered is fantastic but what's the point when the only replay value comes from headache-inducing tricks I simply don't have the free time or patience to get consistent at? They patched out all of the fun mechanics and now only the tedious stuff is still there.

Does this allow for an early Plasma Beam, or does this have the lock on the door that doesn't disappear until you get grapple beam?

Out of curiosity, is it still possible to get the Power Bomb expansion near Gravity without the Grapple Beam by jumping on small bits of collision on the walls? That was the main sequence break I would always do in the Trilogy Version, since it would let me get Grapple on my first trip into the Phazon Mines instead of on the way out.

It is possible, but it's way harder, need to go through Out of Bounds to reach higher platforms, the method that was used in the Wii version doesn't work anymore.

This looks a little less advanced than ice beam early. But i will take your word that its harder. I got boots early. Now i need to get ice beam and this power bomb. Then i gotta do that plasma beam early trick. Current goal is to fight psychic rock boss with plasma beam.

I would say Early Ice Beam is actually a lot harder now when I have been doing speedruns with these tricks. Ice Beam section is long, many spots where you might fail. This has clip being the hardest part, after that it's one scary jump, then two simple ones. Obviously you really need to know what you're doing with these tricks. Early Plasma Beam is fun, have fun with it!

Bro you and me both. Early ice got me needing to learn slope jump. Then I want to varialess magmoor over to phendrana. I just want to see base power suit in as many cutscenes as I can. Maybe in another sequence break run I'll try this for plasma. Speed is of no concern here.

After hours of this I cant do it. I made it out of bounds once and fell to my death. I can very consistently get the same thing to happen every time - which is the triclops grabs me, you CANNOT shake out of it even if you threaten to break the fucking controller doing it, and they dump you into the lava. If I just casually get caught by it, I can break out no problem, but when they grab me specifically as shown and dont try to eject me immediately into the wall, then its a completely unbreakable grab. Watched every video and mimicked the inputs exactly and it just isnt working. This trick sucks so hard. I'm hoping someone figures out more consistency with this.

At this stage, for this game, there should be a "no out of bounds category". These clipping tricks take away much of the fun. Dyceron was having a hard time with this one... The dude was struggling to keep on with the run. Why Retro blocked so much the geometry? This is why runners have to rely in techniques like these.

There's still a ton of out of bounds stuff in the original 00 version of the game, this isn't unique to Remastered.

Can we get the Ice Spreader expansion after getting this? & if we can, can we get it without getting the Ice Beam first & then use it after we get the Ice Beam later? I had to ask because this looks so much easier than getting the Ice Beam early... *edit* Ok trying to get out of the setup grab may be the most annoying because after thinking i set it up right being that it doesnt shoot me into the magma like it normally would, i try the glitch but when it grabs me again it still takes me to the magma... like just how aggressive do i gotta circulate my joystick..?

I was able to pull this off, and I made it so that I got the Phazon Suit before the Gravity Suit. When you do this, the cutscene after the Omega Pirate's defeat appears to show Samus getting the Gravity Suit, but it's actually the Phazon Suit, and you actually need the Gravity Suit in order to not be hindered by water.

If you collect Power Bomb Expansion you can use it. You don't need Main Power Bomb to use Power Bombs. For example: You can get X-Ray early with this PB Expansion

Long story short, this one grab unlocks a Massive portion of the game VERY early on. Allows you to grab many upgrades and pickups before fighting a boss.

Well it should make the early plasma beam possible for one. The first time I successfully got the sequence break was on the Trilogy version, I was so pissed when I got all that way and found bendezium outside the door. Early PBs and early Plasma allows you to grab ice spreader, Xray Visor, before ever going to phazon mines, so you can save an otherwise required lengthy backtrack for plasma and xray before omega pirate. Besides sniping off a few extra expansions.
