As a shy Asian American growing up for me was pretty rough too. Middle school is brutal and high school is mediocre. The kids who made fun of me in middle school were complete softies once you raise your hand to tell on them. They act hard, but can't deal with the consequences. High school is just a popularity contest. I also felt like I always wanted to be in a relationship because it seemed like everyone else was in one. Once you get to college, things are very different. People aren't "popular" by dating others, or for the clothes their parents bought them. It really just came down to how well you were doing in school. People have work and so much going on that the things in middle school and high school, just weren't important anymore. I wish you the best through your journey, but don't stress out on the things that may not be so relevant. I feel like when we have a lot off time where we aren't occupied, we start to look for problems that may seem trivial to others. You summed it up best at the end of the video: It could be worse. There are people who are in a lot worse of a situation. Keep your head up king!

Some rather sad stories but family situations like yours are what makes caring, understanding, and humble people. You may not have been as fortunate as others, but one thing you have that more fortunate people lack is your sense of understanding and acceptance of the little things you have received. Always a pleasure to watch your gameplay too. Dont be so hard on yourself! You have plenty more to offer than most of the other influencers/entertainers today. Use your struggles to make yourself stronger. Being humbled at a young age is empowering.

In fourth grade we had a Japanese student move here and he was in my homeroom class. He knew pretty much no English but learned very quickly, I could have somewhat normal conversations with him by fifth grade. During fourth grade he was super shy often sitting with his head in his knees for the duration of recess, but I would always go up to him and try to reach out. I thought it was the coolest thing that he was at our school and wanted nothing more than to be friends with him, but he would always randomly get mad and tell me "no friend" even on last day of school that year. He was always with the popular kids anyways, they were at an age where they wouldn't think to be full on racist yet, and wanted to be his friend for attention/popularity. I saw through that though and would never go up to him and bother him when I could tell he wanted to be alone. Something must've happened during the summer between 4th and 5th grade because as soon as we met up in school (we had the same homeroom again for 5th and 6th grade) he was super nice to me and kinda stuck by my side for lunch, recess, and all that which was nice because my friends were scarce. He told me that he had a lot of trouble adjusting to our culture here and a lot of things like our kind of jokes were very weird to him, but now he understood what everything meant and wasn't mad at me anymore. Some of the guys in our class and I started teaching him all of the Asian stereotypes just to inform him, not to make fun of him, because he thought it was hilarious and would do stuff like squint his eyes even more and talk in a robot voice or point at his skin all scared and say "uh oh, yellow!" He was too cool to ever actually get bullied really, which was awesome. By the end of 5th grade he introduced me to the game Geometry Dash and I instantly could FEEL that I was gonna be really good at it before I even tried it. I ran home that day and begged my mom to let me get it, and from then on we would give each other updates at morning recess on which levels we beat. He seemed to always be better than me, but eventually he stopped caring as much and I passed him beating Clubstep for him with 3 coins. I was by far the best in the school, and because the game was popular I had all the coolest kids coming up to me to have me beat levels for them. On top of this there was a girl who liked me at the time, so it would be her and my friend sitting next to me every day waiting for the busses to come while the popular kids walked up to me to ask me stuff. Probably my best memories from school ever. Eventually though Jr. High came and for some strange reason we never had ANY classes together so seeing him was rare. I went to his house once but we were only allowed outside in his driveway and his dad didn't really even want me to see him either. By the end of 8th grade, right before high school, he had to move back to Japan for his father's work. I vaguely remember catching him in the hallway and saying goodbye but it definitely didn't do justice for the years I enjoyed hanging out with him. I still talk to him on Instagram but that's my only connection to him, hopefully I can travel there or something just to at least be able to say hi again :)

It’s good that you think about other people’s situation, but it’s okay to feel bad about yourself because it’s your life. What you are going through or feeling even if it isn’t as bad as other people’s situation is valid because you are the one living your life, no one else.
