WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW! This is relatable AF. It's pretty cool you're doing this, and I totally get what you said: All those experiences we're sort of bizarre because you feel so alienated, and it's great seeing that we've pretty much gone through the same. Great video, loved it!

Sam Cushing : It’s great, seeing that even tho we are all over the place, and all those situations felt isolating and had us at the edge; we’re all sort of connected through this experiences and that is all just, beautiful. Means we’re not alone, and the more we bring light to this, the less isolating this experiences will be for generations to come, and I just love that❤️ P.s. Hope you’re doing great, Sam! 😗

Sam, I'm a psychologist and found your video excellent in terms of breaking some of the bonds LGBTQ people experience when thinking about their childhood behavior. You clearly showed all of us that we were not alone when we did many of the things we did as kids. If only we knew this when we were kids! But today's kids, by watching videos like this, will not feel like the Lone Ranger anymore. This means so much to all of us. Shout out to you and your friend for doing this excellent video.

At age 10 I knew and understood what being gay was. Now at 28 soon to be 29 I know everything about it and my whole entire family is 100% supportive.

I could have a field day with that question Sam, but the funniest ( I was a late bloomer...lol ) had to be making out with a friend in high school. We were getting ready for the annual spring concert and this guy I had a crush on asked me if I wanted to see how the lighting system for the stage worked. I said sure. We walked behind these big curtains and he planted one on me and at that moment one of the visual arts teachers came around the corner and saw us in a full-on embrace. After feeling like deers caught in a car's headlights, she simply smiled and said, carry on boys and promptly walked in another direction....:)

Sam, great video. For me, AOL instant messaging service AIM was my secret way to connect with others like me. I recall how my friends would pass around Victoria 's Secret magazines, but I would thumb through looking for the men's underwear section. I was a huge Abercrombie and Fitch fan, and yes, the underwear section left me fixated on the mannequin's crotch and the underwear models. When I started viewing girls as if they were my sister. My argument was that I respected them too much not to be a gentleman, but I never saw them in that light. When I enjoyed watching 'Designing Women' with my mom and the 'Golden Girls' with my grandmother. When during the holidays, I enjoyed staying in the kitchen, helping out, and cleaning up over watching football. Thanks for creating a positive place for people to share and feel validated. Keep up the good work Sam 👍🏼👍🏼

I am from Taiwan as well, just living in Canada, but I am currently in Taiwan when I watched this video actually . I am back for the holidays. The whole LGBT topics weren’t even talked about til recent years when Taiwan had the first pride parade. Even in the entertainment industry, which is still not totally transparent. Many Taiwanese celebrities still did directly said they’re gay/come out officially, but many people know they are, particularly by their actions and the way they speak.

I was extremely socially awkward and didn’t have any friends really because of it, I remember thinking that I had no friends because I was gay and it made me feel really sad and uncomfortable. I’m still dealing with it now to be honest but it’s not as bad as it was before, I remember whenever I would have a conversation that clicked and flowed well I would think about it for the entire day and when I would mess up and say something dumb or stutter or if the conversation was awkward I would always think in my head what I could have said instead.

I like the all inclusive theme. I was fortunate enough to grow-up near a gay resort town, so I had place to explore. My single mom raised us to speak everything that was on my mind. She remarried when I was sixteen. I still see her new husband's jaw drop when at dinner I mentioned that I slept with my best friend, male. My mom's response was good (you're experimenting!). Her husband's response was silence. The experiment continues!

I’m a bit older than you Sam, but I honestly think having crushes on tv actors/characters was a big one. I do however remember as a kid and not knowing completely what “gay” was and getting bullied for being gay in grade school as early as 4th grade. So it was a huge struggle growing up. The bullying didn’t stop until I graduated. I finally came out when I was 28. Then I kind of found relief, however in certain circles I still don’t mention that I’m gay.

Odd yet unsurprising. Decades older, my experience is/was so totally different from yours. I knew I loved men sexually when I was six years old. Son of a WWII war hero/rodeo cowboy turned cattle rancher, I was raised in rural Western America. A fight broke out on my kindergarten playground. The press of kids shoved me against a schoolyard wall. My crush pressed against me. His suede jacket’s perfume was overwhelming. His neck hairs glittered inches from my lips. What else can I say?
