Wow that chainsaw does come in handy. Happy you got the job done. Nothing is more satisfying when we see the results of our hard work. 😅

I was sweating (dressed too warmly) cleaning a few beds in my north west Michigan garden today, north of Traverse City. As I was trimming a few deer-nibbled huechera and primrose, I thought, “I could be in Jes’ movie!”

Always enjoy watching you work in the garden.. I’m outside on my back porch/deck and I laughed at myself because it’s so nice out here & I said “I’m watching someone clean up their garden as I sit here…” knowing mine needs work desperately. lol. I did do some the other day. & then a cpl min later my daughter said “is that your girl Jes?” Because she could hear you singing and she loves your voice. We all do. 😊♥️

Nice edge! I thought; up north the grass dies off in the winter! We're originally from upstate NY. The grass there died off every winter. It was interesting once we moved to SC. The grass here also grows year round. And that chain saw is very impressive!!

35 degrees & working in the yard. Wow! I’m impressed, myself being from the south, I don’t go outside to work unless it’s 50 degrees or more. lol But I’m with ya on getting work like that done in the winter so you don’t break a sweat. Removing that bigger tree sure did make a difference! Great accomplishment today Jess!❤

Great video Jes. I agree spring clean up feels good. Things are wet but make things easier and you naturally feel cool without breaking a sweat. It also makes you feel new. They really should move New Years to First day of Spring so the whole new year actually feels new. Just like when we do spring cleaning. The feeling of fresh and new is great feeling.

Not cleaning in the fall is better for your garden and the insects. Don’t hesitate to leave the leaves until ground temps are consistently over 50-60. I know it’s hard to do but hibernating caterpillars, bees etc will love you for it.

I love seeing you back out in the garden, and I was able to work in mine cleaning up today! I always seem to make the mistake of making my flower beds too small, and soon everything seems to be crowded. How do you know how big to make the bed initially if you aren't sure what to plant? I guess making it bigger is not difficult, but I find i will need to move an aster over because a ninebark has gotten so big beside it! I guess it's a good problem to have!😊

I find a ton of lady bugs in protected pockets around my garden in the spring. I don’t think that they’re the nice lady bugs, they have a tendency to bite you but I imagine they still eat some of the bad bugs in my garden. 🪻💚🙃

We HAVE to get a burning permit now whenever we want to burn a brush pile. 😡 Luckily we just have to call them and let them know we’re going to be burning. I believe if we don’t they can fine us and we live pretty close to the fire station so they would be able to see the smoke in the air. ☹️🪻💚🙃
