Finnish symphonic metal originators Stratovarius have set the release dates for their brand new studio album “Eternal” on September 11th, 2015 (Europe) and September 18th, 2015 (USA) on earMUSIC.
The album will be released in 3 formats: Standard CD Jewelcase, Limited Deluxe Edition (CD + DVD mediabook incl. live video tracks recorded at Loudpark Festival 2015 in Japan) and Double Vinyl Gatefold.

@@goopah I think it doesn't matter but it is important at the same time, since the first one is always special. It's a subjective matter. I started with Visions, then Four Dimensions (both pretty good and classic), but I don't listen to them anymore. Wanna hear modern and revolutionary sounds? Listen to the full (japanese) version of Nemesis (2013). The album that led me to take up guitar playing haha

The evolution from Polaris is just amazing. Polaris was an average album (but a necessary one), Elysium was really impressive, Nemesis was a masterpiece and Eternal looks really promising. Thanks to Timo, Jens, Mattias, Lauri and Rolf for keeping Stratovarius alive. Probably they are not as popular as they were in the mid 90's, but musically they are at their best. Can't wait to see them live again!

Edge Inferno I don't hate the CD. In fact, on it's own, it's pretty good. However, it's disappointing for a symphony X record. It feels like a water-downed version of Paradise Lost. That's not really typical of them to do that. All the other albums before that had their own identity with plenty of originality, even iconoclast, which took me a while to get into. However I'm just not fond of that album; I've been itching for new SX material, and having to wait 4 years for an album like Underworld is kind of disappointing to me.

At other times, Timo Tolkki replaced the former drummer Tuomo Lassila and keyboardist Anti Ikonen in search of a new sound for the band. Well, his departure and Jörg Michael ended up giving a new and fresh sound to Stratovarius. This process started in the Polaris album and solidified in Elysium. Nemesis brought a modern and "heavyness" in this way they started to walk. I believe Eternal will solidify this path and bring old memories in old fans like me. Pure awesomeness!Both video and song,I mean,best video ever from the band and one of the best power metal song in many many years! I love Elysium and I love the quite experimental Nemesis but this "back to the root" album is needed some time! What an awesome song to build up my hype! Going to see them live in a week and it's my first time seeing Stratovarius live! They are my first metal band I ever heard of and also the band that made me into metalhead roughly 14 years ago (I am 22 now) and the band I have grown up with! Stratovarius forever!
