Hello sir, I want to know if I invest in an index mutual fund that can rebalance it's holding in 6 months, then the AMC must follow the index and buy and sell the updated portfolio of the index. Then for their buying and selling do they have to give short-term capital gain tax?If yes, does this money get deducted from my portfolio, even though I am still investigating the mutual fund for the long term? If this occurs do I have to give tax twice during Index fund rebalancing and my redemption of money?

Best Strategy is to invest regularly but avoid SIP , because if you do SIP Automatically it will deduct amount on the fixed date, suppose on that day market is high and after few days or a head of you SIP date market is down but your buy will be on the day when the market was high So keep watching the market and invest on the day when market is down.So you will save little more which will be beneficial in longer terms
