@Raymond Spicer I guess you dont know many people then. Most coders do make that amount. If you do internships and do a lot of projects that your passionate about the money will follow. You have to put in the work to get what you want to reach that salary. Degree or not the process isnt that different. Being lazy and not being a self learning person will not only reflect your ability to do the job, but the likelyhood at being fired. If you cant do the job and you're lazy, who cares how much you make?
@Theoneandonly88able
@Theoneandonly88able 4 жыл бұрын
@Carlos Polanco Maybe if they didn't go to University for CS, but most do make 95k easy. Myself along with all my other friends make this much after graduation just this past summer. If your smart then you would have done internships throughout the summers and semesters to gain experience. Most companies prefer to hire people with CS degree because it shows that person understands the fundamentals on computers and programming work. It's much harder for people without a degree to get in the door, but not impossible. If your making 50k then you either live in a region that isnt a major city or you live in an entirely different country with low demand for software engineers. Even then you can still make money doing this through remote work in freelancing to bring in additional income. It not that different whether you sit in a corporate office or at home. There are so many opportunities to be a software engineer that doesn't have to be in a corporate or government setting. If you can't make more than 50k then move to were they pay you more and stop making excuses.That's your own fault for not taking the intiative to stand out.

Anthony Fam yes times have changed. A fund manager full of tattoos with sone lucky money from the biggest start up in the world called Facebook giving him a huge financial boost. Instead of counting his blessings he goes out there to say that Facebook is bad for what it dies to people. Then he does a start up with girl friend who then becomes wife and right after that he divorces her. Trouble in his fund so he goes after family office money. Look how much trouble he got into and had to go on all kinds of interviews to pretend he is up and coming and cutting edge etc. all good talk, well, I am not saying Buffett is a great guy, but if you read Nassim Taleb’s book anti-fragile you will understand the difference. To those investing in Chamath’s fund, the risk is simply much higher hence the expected returns.

The reason why no one is looking to electrify a plane is because most of us are grinding our way to pay for bills, there is no free time. While the 1% holds all the wealth and free time in the world! It's like Elon Musk said, we need to give time back to people!!! I still think about electrifying a plane. But its all I can do now a days, everyone is just tired from working so much and no money left!!!!! #BITCOIN STRONG

I don't find Chamath to be schooling anyone. He is a Billionaire. Many current Billionaires got there by being at the right time and the right place with something new that creates a viral demand..... There are MANY incredibly smart people who don't care about products or even being super wealthy..... Pure geniuses, often just care about their work. Elon Musk is a billionaire who is really really smart, creates products and continually invests nearly ALL of his money to further his vision. If Elon just wanted to be wealthy, he could have picked a MUCH safer route. Chamath is an Amazon dick-rider, doesn't create value for the world, and you can just see how passive aggressive he is, especially with this smart lady. I would argue on multiple areas, Elon is actually DOING things and CREATING things that will change the future for mankind. HUGE difference. Chamath is a bitcoin shill.... he is just using his influence to strengthen the confidence of bitcoin, which bitcoin needs otherwise fiat currency will crush it.... he is ALL about bitcoin in every interview..... pretty interesting no? Disingenious person, imo

This guy is a little full of himself. Yes, a good thinker and perhaps a visionary. But does not show any humility. I esp don't appreciate his off-hand comments about solving the problems of the poor - needless millions die of malnutrition and lack of basic health care and the proportion of individuals living under the poverty line ("dollar a day") is in the double-digit. So Chamath...your pet projects are not the most important things in the world. His earlier Uyguyr comment was similarly daft.

I like Chamath, but him saying Trump has zero chance in winning shows Chamath head might be getting a little too big, making him blind to trends in America, Trump will probably get re-elected in 2020. Plus Chamath stating Trump doesn't want people like him in America, was an ignorant comment coming from a such a smart guy like him. Trump's issue is with illegal immigration, Trump married a legal immigrant so he is hardly against immigrants. Chamath showed his bias and illogical political views.

The idea that Trump is receptive to highly qualified immigrants from his list of countries on travel ban sounds paradoxical, if not downright nonsensical. Trump did not win the popular votes.
