Regarding the 2 for 1 split that occurs on 12/31: Why is it that we consider that at all for that year? It is happening at the end of the year so would it not be considered in part of the weighting? I would imagine the shares outstanding would only be 170,000 Shares. Sorry if this has been covered but I am a bit confused by it. Thanks!!!

If shares are issued as a result of stock dividends, stock splits, or stock subscriptions, then these are classified as being retroactive. This means that the shares are treated as if they had always been outstanding and are included at the full amount for the current year. Awesome question! Thank you for watching!

Hello there... This is regarding the stock dividend. Why did you add the 10% dividend on both the january and april issue of shares?? Why does everything outstanding gets 10% more?? plz an answer would be surely helpful. Thanks.

Hi and thanks for your question! Stock splits and dividends are retroactive meaning that they are treated as if they have been outstanding for the entire year. Therefore, 10% is applied to all shares. Thanks for watching! :)

Only here because I HATE the method that Becker teaches for calculating weighted average shares. This is the method I learned in undergrad and it is so much simpler
