Yeah, financial advisors could make a lot of difference, particularly in a market such as this. Stocks are pretty unstable at the moment, but if you do the right math, you should be just fine. Bloomberg and other finance media have been recording cases of folks gaining over 250k just in a matter of weeks/couple months, so I think there are a lot of wealth transfer in this downtime if you know where to look. I always tell myself you don't need that new Car or that vacation just yet and that mindset helps me make more money invest:ng. LOEVED, LOEVED LOVED this Live. I have worked in Finance for several years now (not as a trader or analyst) but in the administrative capacity and I have learned a few things along the way and have invested in a few stocks and portfolios. I always heard of REITS and knew it dealt with real estate but I wasn't clear on how. I am glad he broke it down and made it understandable to the masses. My dad talked to me about investing in stocks when I was really young kid before I really understood money. But those talks planted the financial seeds in my brain and I am thankful for that because I have been able to make wise business investments as an adult. Financial literacy and education is so important and I love hearing Black people talk about making these types of moves.

The REIT key is dividends ..they are required by law to payout dividends..the more you have invested the more dividends you earn without dealing with tenants or a tenant missing rent..he should have emphasized REITs have leases..so these companies leasing cannot cancel the lease..it's a great investment..no repairs ..basically you are a shareholder of a property managed property that's basically income guaranteed..

I have 1600 budgeted per month so 800 per paycheck to bank account to cover expenses and ALL REMAINDER to TD. This way overtime automatically goes to TD. I stick to the budget. Pay yourself first. Less temptation to overspend when it goes directly to the brokerage. Invest first and spend what is left. I used MINT to figure out where my money was going and how much I really needed for needs. I just took a class with Ashley M Fox, and she said to open a brokerage account with Charles Schwab, Fidelity Investments or E-Trade. I have been trying to figure this out for months since learning about dividends.

I am a beginner. Awesome information; thank you for this knowledge. Saw you at a conference in DC this weekend. Hopped on KZbin to hear more. Saw this beginner's real talk. How do I get an ETF account? What's your recommendation?
