A show that gives vibes of hope and theres nothing but negative comments. That says more about how jaded we are than the quality of the show. Ffs people try embrace something different from the endless despair tv gives us these days.

First published 1949. I first read it in 1989. 2020's adaptation not as impactful as the 1940's publication most probably but still one of the most excellent stories I have ever entertained. Post apocalyptic before nearly all other post apocalyptic works and associated genre. I'll watch it and hopefully like it.

If you had read the book the female lead is mixed heritage. So this is not a far leap. Although his comments about liking her despite her heritage probably won’t be said in the show. The book is actually very thought-provoking.
