I still remember the moment the game completely made me hooked. It was when I got to get in Balam and have a fisticuffs showdown with godzilla. All while this was on full blast in the background. That moment sold me instantly that this game series is one of the best.

This song really stuck in my head because of Demon Army. Fighting through the hell you haven't been trained for that is gold ants and silver spiders, having to carry the entire team by myself as a Wing Diver through both waves of mutants, learning how to efficiently manage my energy between reloading and getting the heck out of dodge on the spot in the process, to finally hear the excited cry of "WE DID IIIIIT!" once one next remains and this theme starts up... the song really stuck in my head from that moment on. We'd gone through on Hard the entire game for our first run. Probably not the wisest idea, but we got through it.

I tried that too, and ended up completing the final mission on Easy difficulty. Even with all the farming me and my friends did in mission 11, I couldn't pull it off. I blame myself for fluctuating between playing as Ranger and Wing Diver, and not sticking with one class.

Mhm. Playing on Hard for a first run with friends is something else. But it makes you put your heads together and come up with a tactic to get through by the skin of your teeth. It's truly satisfying when this music kicks in when your plan has provided fruit.

If you're doing your first play-through on hard, you HAVE to use wing diver. Air Raider might work, but wing diver is the only class with all her mobility from the very beginning. Ranger has no mobility at all, while Air Raider and Fencer need to unlock things to get their mobility... and for Air Raider, his mobility scales with level (higher level vehicles.) Plus, wing diver's mobility is very simple. when using wing diver, try setting the jump button to left trigger, and zoom/scope for whatever other button, like X for PS4 or A for Xbox.

@@watermelongaming3698I don't agree. As my friends have demonstrated, Wing Diver takes a lot of skill to play well, and energy management is king. If you don't know how to manage your energy, you'll easily find yourself grounded and having a bad time. I got really good with this class because it was necessary, and wound up shocking long-time veterans with how long I could stay in the air on 4.1's energy system after playing for less than a year. I got so used to playing Wing Diver it's actually hard for me to play any other class, and other players easily outperform me if I change to anyone else.

Alright, real talk: Balam vs. Barga. Both in a 1v1 and against their respective invaders. Balam has a 2-in-1 blocking and get-up move, and Barga has effective stomps and 2 charge/heavy attacks.

stat-wise, the Barga is superior, through sheer amount of armour compared tot he Balam. The Barga was built for construction so it is heavily armoured and can stand an incredible beating while dishing it out against other giant beings. the Balam does have the defensive move to keep it from toppling over, but was built in a rush.
