The North and South poles are often thought of as the centers of magnetic North and magnetic South, but that isn’t necessarily the case. The magnetic North and South are really mobile and magnetic North, in particular, is moving faster than we originally thought it could.
The prevailing theory about why our planet has a magnetic field, or magnetosphere, in the first place is called dynamo theory. Dynamo theory says the reason behind Earth’s magnetosphere is because of what lies underneath the crust.
It’s the idea that the molten metals of Earth’s outer core, like iron, are being swirled all around the Earth’s interior, around the solid inner core, continuously creating electric currents as charged particles move through this liquid metal, and-in combination with the rotation of the Earth-becomes what’s called a dynamo: the source of a magnetic field.
So because the liquid that creates the magnetosphere is always shifting, so are the magnetic poles.
The science community is coming up with creative and experimental ways to to figure out the reasoning behind the magnetic poles shifting so quickly, and to further probe the Earth’s magnetic behavior.

@@P4n0r4mA Centrifugal force (like twirling a glass of liquid so it moves to and up the sides of the glass) pushes the liquid metal farther out into the crust, and the same spinning motion from the planet is what carries the metal around under the tectionic plates. The mass of this metal and it's movement is what creates a magnetic field.

@@P4n0r4mA That would be the kinetic energy from the impact that created our planet and it's satellite, the moon. It was formed when 2 asteroids collided and blew out debris everywhere. The gravity of these objects started collecting the debris and one (being smaller) was locked into orbit around the larger. If you know anything about physics then you should know that when an object is put into motion with no resistance (vaccum of space having no mass to create drag) will stay in that motion until stopped by an equal opposing force (Issac Newton figured this out). When you spin a ball on earth it gradually slows down due to friction with the air or whatever it is spinning on top of. In space there is no friction, so when the earth was struck by the moon and it was susequently captured by the gravitational force of the earth and locked into orbit; the spin applied to the earth cannot just be dissapated even over millions of years without an equal force or gradual application of force applied in the opposing direction. That's just the first law of Physics and makes complete sense if you have the slightest understanding how those said laws apply.

I remember watching videos and documentaries on what would happen if the poles shifted. They were all cataclysmic. Your video doesn't seem too stressed about it, probably since its a slower gradual change than maybe the videos I watched thought. What do you think would happen aside from increased radiation from solar winds? From what I’ve heard, the real cause of the shift has to do with dynamo spots in the earths core. There is one in Canada and one in Siberia and they compete for the North Pole. Canada’s one has been weakening so the North Pole is shifting to Siberia.

In geology, hundreds of thousands of years counts as recent. In this case recent enough for geologists to examine the polarity of rocks at different layers and see that their magnetic properties alternate through different eras. It's like the ground is striped in layers of north and then south magnets, but very weak, and it matches up in different parts of the world at those depths.

Your question makes no sense. “The surface climate” is not expressed with a numerical value and it can not “increase” or “ decrease”. “The climate”is the aggregate of a series of variables including meteorologist ones. Some of these meteorological variables that are measurable include temperature, humidity, atmospheric pressure, wind, precipitation, etc. Maybe you’re referring to one of these variables in particular? Maybe temperature, or humidity index?

Say we had an elipse pointing up and down ( earth ) ( like an egg standing on its end ) and placed a point ( sun ) closest to the centre ( equator ) a short distance away and drew lines from that point towards the elipse and followed that line it would always cross one of the 2 focal points ( poles ) If we squeezed the pointed ends of the elipse the focal points would move closer together until they became one point ( sphere ) Our ice is melting especially at the north pole and its changing the shape of the earth and that's why the north pole is moving towards the equater. The south pole is not melting as fast that's why it barely moves. If we get a sphere and squeeze the ends it would turn into a longitudinal elipse where its base is wider than its height just like a disc and its focal point would look like a donut or ring or toroid. Dont know what that means but it looks like this will happen after the 2 poles meet. Dont know much about the planets but I do know geometry. Good video as usual...I hope this helped.
