they announced that they started to work again on it with a complete new team on 26 april 2008. Has passed 10 years and a half and these retards have not released it. LOL. Anyway nobody gives a fuck anymore about it and their forum is completely dead. A bunch of doucbags. They already lost 99% of people that would have downloaded it. Anyway this will probably never be released not that anyone would play it if it was. They managed only to make people angry over the course of years.

Its been in development for like 10 years. There hasn't even been any playable updates in years and you're lucky if you get a teaser trailer annually. Esforces is vaporware.

Yes, it's true that it's being worked on that long, but why? Only a handful of people work on it in their free time and the team always accepted people to help speed the development up, but when it comes to that nobody does anything. There was no character modeler for over 5 years, no texture artists. You can't show much on the code side and people don't understand the complexity behind that stuff. Also there were no playable updates because the community decided to get a full functional release than broken updates like 1.3 open beta, where over 90% of the community just gave negative comments instead of constructive criticism. I'm new in the team and am helping out with 3D models, if you've seen the imperfect cell and semiperfect cell I modeled them. Yeah, it took me longer to model them because I just started modeling characters and I'm still learning workflows, matching the art style and I'm doing this just as a hobby, so I don't have that much experience. I want to push myself to work more, but like the rest of the team I have bills to pay, work and I'm also going to university, so most of my free time I allocate to the project. Behind the scenes there is work that is being done and it's shown when it looks decent, because it looks like people don't really like WIP stuff.

SUPER BADASS TRAILER!!!!! This hypes me up for the entire Ginyu Force, they all look fantastic and their tier combos looks so fun. That one tier where they all come out is hilarious (Ginyu Tier 3 I think). I loved the old Ginyu Force trailer, but this is infinitely more entertaining to watch. BTW those Cell models are looking PERFECT! I'm happy you guys decided to show progress on Semi-Perfect Cell too, even though he's not finished he looks like he's only 1 thing away from being manga perfect (the mesh).

Jonathan Sebourne Not true. Final was not the end goal of the alphas and betas. Each release has been it's own stand alone thing, and most of them have vastly different design philosophies and principals. Final, was just the next iteration for the game, and named such because it's the last time the team as it is, will be involved with the game. We didn't start work on Final (the current version of it) until after the 1.3 open beta. Everything was scrapped after that and built fresh.

JDHauser No. No future release are planned. And still no, fundamental changes happened between alphas and betas. Even beta 1.1 is a vastly different game to 1.2.3. Final is the last link in that change of revisions to it. But Final was also not what the mod originally set out to be in alpha 1.0. Final (in it's current form) wasn't conceptualized until after 1.3 OB was a thing. And we never asked anyone to follow us. Anyone that does so, does on their own, and are free to move on or stick around. To those that do, we provide updates, but to assume we make the game *for* fans, is blind. We make the game because *we* want to. This is a learning experience for us. As such, we have always done it when we had time. This isn't our job, and never will be. To assume we should be spending more time on it, is to tell us we in some way owe you something, which is so wrong it hurts. I'm glad you enjoy what you see, but you seem to have some really perverse ways of looking at what we present as something being built *for* you, when that's far from the truth.

The (very) earlier builds used to be open beta (v1.3), that was planned to be updated regularly. But rather than people helping on the builds with bug reports, people complained about it, cursed at it, and simply didn't cared about it. As such it was decided that they no longer will do open beta's and aim for a full release.

I remember when one of the last cyber coffees that i used to go to closed , by that point in time we were able to get internet in our home PC (2007-2008) but it was dogshit , i remember having watched the first video of ESF 1.3 around that time and having my mind blown away , you boys was the ammo for the PC players to use against the console fanboys for having them Tenkaichis (and still to this day , those games can't be 100% perfectly emulated). So make no mistake, i am no hater , but we are not in 2007 anymore , we are in 2018 , i am not 10 years old anymore, i am 21. If i had to take a wild guess, this is made by 1 single guy which gets monetization from the videos and in some way he must be getting some money off of the forum. CryZENX made more progress in 3-4 years recreating an entire game with a much more complex engine than the ESF team did in 11 years trying to update or "finish" their game. The circumstances in which this game would take this long to finish are so specific and unlikely that im very doubtful that that is the case for this game. What is the point in trying to keep the relevance up if you will ultimately never do anything with it? graphically this game look's terrible today, attention to detail is seriously lacking and the only reason why it still got some hype is because is the original ESF gameplay with more pixar looking graphics. Honestly heartbreaking.

I don't have anything to get over , im not resentful towards the team, im merely questioning their reasoning as it seems non existent and as i stated previously, i am no longer a child , that "hope and love" bullshit just doesn't sit very well with me nowadays , 1 single guy (cryZENx) is remaking the entire Zelda Ocarina of Time on Unreal Engine 4 , he's all alone and he's made gigantic progress in the past 3 years. PS3 Emu in the span of the last 18 months has advanced tremendously. You can like the game, i like the game , but that shouldn't make you feel forced to BULLSHIT BULLSHIT excuses around dog. Even if it were to release tomorrow, we never got a word as to why and how. good luck

That's not necessarily true , we don't know to what degree ESF used native assets/code , and besides, the HL engine is one of the most versatile and dev friendly engines ever, that's why there is so many mods for it and it's games. but we do know that CryZENx had to code and update fix a lot of his remake very carefully. You're oversimplifying something that ain't simple at all.

juanme555 except that the esf team has pushed things beyond it's limits and even created their own engine which was injected into the goldsrc engine. Future engines are easier to work with, of course to a certain degree. Esfs custom engine has to coop with hl, which can give problems at times. Would have been easier if valve would be more helpful if hl was open source.

I don't understand, i downloaded 1.3 but it looks nothing like this. Also how can it have such water, shaders and textures if it runs on goldsrc?
