You guys sound beautiful to me my number one band, back in the day I was 12 years old 1972 digging you EW&F it's 1/1/2019 still digging and loving you . I know because I loved EW&F since 1972 saw them at Madison square garden 1975 and 1979 best time in my life , I will always think of Maurice white when I hear verdine, Ralph and Philip,. Their face shows they love and miss Maurice I know, because I do.

The sound quality is excellent but the person who mixed this needs to be fired! I hear many say the sound man sucks but the person who dropped the ball was the mixer and editor!

So the audience was hearing the full sound, is that what is being said. Because if I was in the place I would have went off. I was wondering why the bands weren't complaining to get it right or we're not performing.

(FOH engineer here) Each source (mics, instruments) would have been split three ways with a clean copy of each going to Front of house (audience mix), Monitor mix (what the performers hear) and Broadcast TV Mix. The band and FOH/monitor engineers were probably getting the signal but it was lost at the TV truck. The band probably had no idea what idea was going on as they still heard their monitor mix and the house mix. There should have been a ready back up for the lead singers! For a show of this magnitude there should always be back up channels and mics!

Whoever let this audio get out should be kicked in the balls. Kind of sounds like they used a couple of static microphones placed Somewhere in the concert venue. They're horribly overloaded, saturated and clipping. Definitely doesn't sound like it was taken right off of a board. I've never heard a TV mix this bad. Some cell phone audio sounds better than this.

Mostly agree, but I would remove Ralph Johnson and substitute with Maurice White. Maurice is the founder of the band and Ralph, although also from the earliest days, is really just a backing singer and not a super star in their own right, like the others you mentioned. Just my opinion

I'm confused . What happened? This concert fell well below my expectations. Philip, you're still one of the greatest falsetto singers in the world. I know most singers lose their voices wth age, so it was expected. But whats' up with the sound? Much peace & love EWF forever.

I saw this concert in Atlantic City that year (September 2015), and it was incredible and super loud. So much fun! This just sounds like a technical issue, which really sucks because Philip Bailey's voice is incredible!

As much as I love these two bands I could almost watch them with no audio at all. But I've gotten 13 minutes into this and I've got to turn it off. It's a travesty to the legacy of these two great artists. Earthwindandfire got screwed, Philip Bailey's Mike wasn't even in the front house mix for way too long. Then it was too loud. But I still love these guys and Verdine always has been and still is a monster on bass
