I had a friend who was born with cerebral palsy. He cannot be an acrobat, and personally I have plenty of fantasies that are in no way realistic, but when I throw down the vain imaginings and focus on who I was made to be, and learn about the things that I am naturally good at..... I gain realistic direction.

There's an awesome short documentary about her in the late 70's that followed her for several days. It's a really good look on her life to that point that doesn't go over every part, but still encapsulates so much of her worth learning.

After her anti-war statement at the White House in 1968, a Washington DC mandated Hollywood had turned its back on Eartha Kitt, and she in turn just said, "So What?", and did a decade long stint in Europe... Ten years later, with the Vietnam Era and all its related BS placed behind us, Hollywood and the American Stage sees Ms. Kitt's accomplishments in Europe, and begs her to return... She did because she wanted to, not had to...

I'm so happy to hear someone from that time own being multicultural...I'm from a multi-racial family and even for us, conversations around that or tense and I hear too much of how they had to choice but to choose one side and felt they couldn't own being multicultural. It's been very frustrating, because I do own it, very strongly (being multicultural & multilingual) and don't really have anyone around me to understand that.

She's the politician needed so badly today. Intelligent, articulate and a national treasure, Ms. Kitt understood race, humanity and the systems so well and was hushed, blacklisted and ignored at the time she was most needed. Dick Cavett does a wonderful job of structuring the interview to allow so many truths to come out.

LadyALCO ~ He probably wasn’t the best interviewer in the world.........his name is Dick Cavett. He had his own very popular show throughout the entire 1970s and interviewed a WIDE range of amazing celebrities!! His personality is a little dry......but overall he is a pretty good guy and I am also so glad he interviewed such a wonderful lady. She was so ahead of her time and had such a unique and accurate view on many topics including race. ❤️

She looks so refined, but then she opens her mouth and all that 'ghetto' comes out....not. How is it that someone who had little or no education can communicate so well, and today I listen to some so-called artists who have had the benefit of formal education, but can hardly utter a word without it being an expletive?

Actually black africa refers to sub-saharan Africa as opposed to north Africa which is predominantly Arab in countries like Morroco, Algeria, Tunisia and Egypt. There's nothing wrong with the term!
