she met Albert Einstein when he was 75 and she 26. She had donated $10,000 to an orphanage in New York City, and was asked if they could grant her a wish in return, and she said that her greatest wish was to meet Einstein.

Eartha Kitt felt like a friend. I was so sad when she died. Her music gave me such comfort in the worst of times. She truly appreciated her fans and they knew it. I had the pleasure of seeing her perform about six times in intimate settings between 1997-2005. The last time she waved at me from the stage and even once replied to an email. It's hard to believe that she's no longer here. Thanks for posting.

The first time i heard Eartha was when i watched The Emperors New Groove! I absolutely loved her voice! Sadly, she had already passd away by the time i researched her. Never the less, i still think she is incredible and i wish she were still alive, i would have loved to see her in person!

I've even seen Eartha live in Berlin in the lateEighties. She was so incredibly good - I admired her before, but then I fellt in love. Never again have I seen such a good show. She was divine! I miss her so much.

I met her backstage when she performed in Seattle and it was such a memorable moment. Also ,she was very gracious to the people who wanted to meet her.even though it was already past midnight and still scheduled to perform the next day. And this was such a beautiful song -that pinches your heart and makes you sob. RIP Ms Kitt.

Thank you so much for posting this! I have the CD but cannot find a copy of the DVD that is formatted to work in the U.S. I was privileged to speak with Eartha a number of times, and I was amazed by her warmth and appreciation for her audience. What a poignant song, as this is how she really felt in life -- alone.

Alone Sometimes it seems that life`s unfair The journey leads nowhere Its roads of miles apart I follow the path within my heart All that I wanted more or less Was a key to happiness And now I plainly see The key to happiness is me When times were dark And days were grey And dreams were lost I found my way Through all I`ve seen And all I`ve known I`m still standing here alone I`ve been through clouds and stormy skies And different worlds all filled with lies I`ve travelled through the stings of lovers And wept my tears upon their covers I`ve lived the life of roughen queen And dyed my hair to fit the scene I had my ups I had my downs And sipped champagne with worldly crowns I`ve been as honest as I could And shame the shame of those who should I`ve been loved and I`ve been lied to And found few shoulders I could cry to And all those years I thought life`s naughty She made me beautiful at 40 For life`s not been so bad to take For now I cut life`s golden cake Into a million tiny squares And with each piece recall the years The taste of life is not been so bad Between the tears and joys I`ve had For with some good and a little sin She allways allowed me to get up again And all those years I thought life`s naughty She made me beautiful at 40 When times were dark And days were grey And dreams were lost I found my way Through all I`ve seen And all I`ve known I`m still standing here........ alone..... This song isn;t Ertha. It is sad. I want to remember her as a voice of no compare, a lady with a sense of humor that makes me laugh even if she lived much much earlier than that of my generation. I am glad I have known her via youtube. Thanks Ea rtha.

luis fernando lagares daza "Life Made Me Beautiful At Forty" I've been through clouds and stormy skies and different worlds, all filled with lies I've traveled through the stings of lovers And wiped my tears upon their covers I've lived a life of rogue and queen And died my hair to fit the scene I've had my ups, I've had my downs And sipped champagne with worldly crowds I've been as honest as I could And shamed, the shame of those who should I've been loved and I've been lied to And found a few shoulders I could cry on And all those years I thought life naughty, ah-hah She made me beautiful at forty For life's not been so bad to take For now I've cut life's golden cake Into a million tiny squares And with each piece recall the years The taste of life has not been so bad Between the tears and joys I've had But with some good and a little sin She always allowed me to get up again And all those years I've spent on my youth Thinking knowledge brought the truth I know life has her games to play And puzzles of crackling clay So, graves are dug and wars are lost But life goes on at any cost I do think life has made me wiser So there is no reason to disguise her Even I tried to rearrange her She has been fair, I would not change her, hah-hum She presents me life so simply In a cup that's almost empty With a little wine to tease me But not enough to really please me And if I drink, and let her take me She is wise enough to wake me But only after dreams and visions Allowing me to see these decisions, ah-hah All those years I thought life naughty, grrr... She made me beautiful at forty
