Jets don't work outside of atmosphere. Thrusters are for maneuvering, not for escaping Earth's gravity. Carbon monoxide as a weapon against an alien foe sounds good on paper, but not in practice if humans aren't protected against it or the level of carbon monoxide needed to paralyze the "silica" isn't stated as Earth's atmosphere contains trace amounts to begin with and the motivation for the "silica" to invade Earth wasn't explained in the beginning and destroying the planet doesn't really make sense since it wasn't explained. I didn't get far in this story because little mistakes and lack of explanation take me out of the story. The setup was rushed. Narrator wasn't that good but enunciated well enough for a non-native English speaker like me to understand. That being said, I appreciate a free audiobook provided by the author, and I thank you regardless of my criticism. There's potential in this, Mr. Jason Letts. I feel it there, but can't suspend my disbelief long enough to get into the story or care about the characters.
