Welcome everyone to the brand-new season of Humankind! Diving into our first "mod" we take a look at the custom large earth map! As we go through this series, I'll try to throw more historical bits of info I have for the cultures! This series at the end of the day though only has one goal, global domination! What better place to start than...... South America?

PS - I've already decided on adding the "Season 5" back into the series again & the videos for organization's sake lol. I couldn't think of a way to track the new series otherwise, yet. Hope you guys enjoy & thanks for understanding my title shenanigans!

Yay for another series! Caralans would be the closest ones as they were in north Peru. Btw Vinicuca is a mountain close to the incan capital of Cuzco

Awesome facts! I shoulda known that considering they were apart of the South American cultures DLC. I don’t dislike the culture I picked as it benefits to explore the new ones, but it woulda been pretty cool to claim all of the continent with one of the most interesting empires at the time lol. Thank you!

You *have* to use the aesthete ability as often as you can, especially in the early game. It generates a massive lump of free influence, even if the area is already under you control. In the ancient and classical, I think it's strong enough to make the argument that any aesthete culture is A-tier, at least. (maybe not the nazca >>) But yeah, the other thing I would say is getting a second city up a little faster would've been a priority for me, but everyone's playstyle is different.

Thank you for the tips! I think this is the first aesthete culture I've ever chosen so I'm not shocked I didn't know that! Will do next episode & a second city is on the to do list for sure! Just not sure where yet on the continent! I'm surprised Aesthete would be A-tier tbh, but it creates some importance on the culture which is great!

The independent state to the south would make a good second city.

Even on nation I always seem to be getting last on the ancient era culture which is ok because they leave out a lot of good cultures behind like the Zhou in my experience.

Agreed, early eras seem to get passed quickly. It also makes you play as cultures you’d never think too as well, giving some variety to the situation.

I think it will serve u well if u train units and conquer American cuz they dont seem to hv that many, and the continent does seem to have toooo many resources to not

It’s definitely an option! Early warfare is always intriguing & it’ll give access to the whole continent!

Hey btw just letting you know that during 7:38 Pama-Nyugan … I might be mistaken now, well I know that “Nyugan” is pronounced as the English word “Win” it’s a semi common Korean last name. In the game it is interesting to see the history of these names.

Thank you for the historical/linguistic knowledge! It's always interesting learning about the cultures that came before & how they left their mark on the world. I'm sure many know but something I find interesting speaking from a linguistic point of view is that for example the native people of northern Italy - the Etruscans, developed their own, completely separate language from the huge, connected language tree that was forming at the time all around them. Thank you for your comment!

The name "Pama-Nyungan" is a merism: it is derived from the two end-points of the indigenous Australian language range - the Pama languages of northeast Australia (where the word for "man" is pama) and the Nyungan languages of southwest Australia (where the word for "man" is nyunga). Of the 400ish languages spoken by aboriginal Australians 306 share the same linguistic and philological origins. Pama-Nyunga is therefore a linguistic origin as opposed to a cultural one, however first nations Australian's take exception to being called aboriginies/aboriginal due to the heavy colonial trauma inflicted upon them during their most recent histories so referring to their Pama-Nyunga proto-culture as such is considered acceptable. I'm glad you chose them as your first culture. Have a lot of respect for the First Nations Australian's after working and living amongst them during my time in the Land of the Dreaming/Australia.
