I would have reacted like Chris, but my best friend would have laid them out. The difference is what people value and are they willing to lose it. Chris valued his job the most. Will valued his wife the most. Time will tell who made the best decision. Chris still has the option to sue, and continue his career with a sympathy bump in popularity. Will's career will be fine but he will not have the pull he once had. He also doesn't know if Chris will ever press charges or sue. And lets not act like the woman he laid it on the line for is supporting him as blindly as he did her. He IMO came out the worst.

Will was dead wrong, but why couldn't Chris block, or dodge the slap? That,.. is the question. The answer is CONDITIONING. Fuck the Oscars... fuck protocol! Protect yourself!
@worldismymuse42972 жыл бұрын
I hear you...but that's an emotional reaction. Protect yourself from what? A Slap? Embrassment for 24 hours? Will and Jada look like the fools and weak ones and didnt follow protocol. They are going to pay one way ($) or the other down the road...probably already are with that incident, their life looking like an open book mess and their kids clearly being affected by their parent's lifestyle. And Chris is more than A-OK. Its not CONDITIONING...no one expected a slap in that moment (Will laughed at the joke, remember?)...and block, dodge wouldn't be an option for most people

I agree with "Earthquake" just take the "High Road" and get paid! Every single interview that I have seen Earthquake, always has the most intelligent response, even with the response he had about "Jada" he is respectful, and also he is not trying to please others by trying to "brag" how he would have beat up, kick, shoot, etc' Will Smith. A lot of people also never address the fact that, as a "black man" Chris Rock, did not give "others" something they could feel good about, by watching two "black men" fight at the Oscar's!

Meh can’t have it both ways. I think Chris was justified in whatever way he decided to react. Whether he wanted to fight or let it slide, like he did. Can’t say if your mentality was to slap Will back, you wouldn’t have been in the position to present an Oscar, when Will’s mentality was to walk on stage and slap him and he WON AN Oscar! Did Will’s mentality and actions not belong at the wing spot? He was front row at the Oscars. When people say take the “high road” it’s basically saying it’s alright for someone to do you wrong but you not do anything about it.
