I just built my tiller and watched your video. I didn’t have any issues with the side plates. I used a zip tie in the two end holes of each plate. Then I didn’t have to hold the plates in place. I then used the washers on both sides and tighten the bolt with the washer net. Then I cut one of the zip ties on the end and tighter the plate in place. It made it a lot easier. Hope this helps the next guy.

We just bought this exact model from Menards here in Ohio. Breaking all new ground with this machine. It does a great job. I paid about 500 bucks for it. The same product made by Craftsman was 800 bucks in Home Depot.

This will be our first year with in-ground plots .. The area we're planting in hasn't had crops for a long time. We're planting corn, peas, carrots, okra, beans, lettuce, kale, pumpkins, and tomatoes .. Gonna be exciting and challenging. Did you have to use this tiller on straight grass before, and if so, how did it do for you?
@TonysTractorAdventure4 жыл бұрын
I never have used it in grass. I till with my tractor and then clean up with this tiller throughout the year. We are planting a big garden this year too!
@michaelthescreechowl94274 жыл бұрын
Okay, thanks! We've got nine raised beds but roughly 1600 square feet of lawn that are to become rows and mounds. I imagine the first pass will take some effort but the second pass will go alright. We'll work some compost and garden soil in with the second pass but gotta pulverize the sod first. Cheers to you and good luck with your expansion!
@davidc17234 жыл бұрын
I have one, it will till grass,but you need to set bar at shallow for first pass and then drop a little at a time or it will slip belts and/or clog. Does a good job just can't expect it to cut like a tractor tiller with one pass

Lucky you having warm weather! Ethanol is not good to old engines. I always use the premium, which is normally ethanol free where I live. So far, so good, many engines to maintain, no fail. Having the engine level to check oil level, on such equipment is kind of a guess work. Even siting on it's tines, it is not level! You have a lot of experience and you saw it right away. But what about the common people... Nice video, I enjoyed it!

The belt on my 3365 broke last week Wednesday. Can't find a replacement any where. I had a local retailer order one for me and it never came. Found out today, finally, that it is on back order. Just wondering why all the places that sell this tiller and none of them carry replacement parts for them. Now I'm out of luck and the plants have to go in the ground!

My soil is amazing as well. I live on the land side of a levee, and before they built it, my land used to be a creek bottom. They leveled my land with fill dirt fished out of the bottom of the water side many years ago, so it is black as coal. It can be a pain breaking new ground because of the creek rock, though, but that is why I have my digging bar next to me at all times. I have yet to have the Viper 212cc engine bog down, but I did have problems with the belts. You have to constantly tighten them after 2 hours of use because they stretch when new. I'd also suggest lubing up the axle with axle grease because they ship it bone dry. I see you bought yours at the TSC in Paris, TN? I live close to good ole Cumberland Gap myself!

I haven't done a garden. It's just the 2 of us so I don't plant. I messed up trying to grow corn in planters. That's okay, It was an experiment for me anyway.
