This is the best description of this pedal I have seen so far. I love the way the plumes interacts with humbuckers. I feel this interaction seems better than the TS style pedals that I have enjoyed in the past.

I sold my Tube Screamer (2nd one and I don't know why I bought it) and bought this pedal. I will never let go of it. You can get anything out of it. It's the anti-Tube Screamer.
@JackFossett3 жыл бұрын
Definitely the anti-TS. The Bizzaro TS.
@brianrollins72753 ай бұрын
It’s not supposed to be an exact clone. It has many more uses than a typical tube screamer. It’s way better than a ts imo.

i use it as a boost/tone tightener for stoner doom before my Fuzz and distortion pedals, works like a dream.

I bought it to do that exact thing, but ended up going back to the ts9.

Looks familiar ;) Nice playing, I think the first two clipping options sound best. Totally agree with the raspiness! I prefer blues driver for warmer tone, and I love my DOD 250 which is also "raspy" and "spitty" but sounds better to my ears. Go figure!

I have one with a bunch of other overdrive pedals. I was going to be playing live and did a "shootout" with all of my overdrive/distortion pedals. My girlfriend and 2 neighbors all chose this one for me to play through live. It has bite and it's a great pedal.
@barnshart9662 Жыл бұрын
Just pictured 2 people minding their own business sitting on their couch watching TV. You click on the Plumes and they both stop and look at eachother "Damn, neighbours tone got bite!" And they ran over to tell you.

Nice Review Jack. Just bought this pedal and played it through my Fender Deluxe, I found the Pedal had way too much highs for me and Setting 3 sounded more like a Fuzz. I was looking for a Bluesy Edge and this Pedal didn’t do that. I also play Classic Rock and Setting 1 I felt was a better Mach for that but still way too many Highs. I used several different guitars and had the same problem. When I turned the Tone back it seemed to also cut the Lows but boosted theLow Miss and gave it a real Boxy Sound. I’m going to play with it more but it maybe going back, don’t know? Please keep up the Good Work man! Love your Channel and Content! Cheers from Salem, Ohio!

Thank you! Yeah I don't disagree, this wasn't a pedal for me. I couldn't quite peg it for any use, it didn't give me the overdrive I wanted or the fuzz that I wanted.

I bought this pedal because I played it through p90s and it had this sizzle to it, but I got home and the effect was not the same on my single coils and humbucks. Now I need a p90 guitar to sound good through this pedal. Does work for squeeling metal but I feel like a tube screamer would sound better in the long run keep this pedal for p90 I guess. It was a sizzle that could have cooked a steak. Really good p90 tone. If you have p90s you need this pedal!

For what its worth (a year later) this is one of the most accurate Plumes reviews I have read (yes I own one). I bought it because I never quite got on with TS pedals and thought I should - then stayed with it because (after learning about it and dialing it in - didn't like it on first play) for my ears and in my rig IT WORKS. The rawk and brightness sounds great, it's versatile, has tons of gain and sounds unique. I found it best to control the sound with the guitar volume and tone controls (can't use it at full volume on any of my guitars). So, I still don't get on with TSs but the Plumes has stayed on my pedal board.

Hi Jack...I’ve been checking out this pedal. Some videos I like the tone, other videos not as much. With the day in age we are living in, it’s hard to test out pedals before you buy them. I do like the tones of the SG through that pedal. So confused...haha blessings bro

It must be said that the amp sounds exceedingly bright and sparkly when pedal bypassed…albeit incredible. From what I read about the Plumes it would only add to this, so for a darker amp its probably just the ticket?

Think they ran a bunch of special editions. I have the silver and purple one. I've seen silver and black. And obviously the green and yellow is the main one. So my guess is just a special edition.

I cant quite place it, but it sounds almost like a cheap guitar and amp. Like your first guitar with a sears amp and a distortion pedal. I can usually find something I like about a pedal, but this one just doesnt do it for me. Your playing always does though.
@JackFossett3 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Appreciate that. I don’t disagree with that assessment - it’s tone is “unrefined” in a lot of ways, whereas the usual TS sound I consider very refined.
@SyntagmaStation3 жыл бұрын
How did that cheap guitar sound get to be so attractive? :) We pay big bucks to sound like we have a $35 Montgomery Ward rig from 1972. It is awesome in the hands of great player though, isn’t it?!
