It's the foundation of the Greek Atlantis story for a reason .... That eruption was also a large part of the downfall of the Minoan culture. Good idea to leave for a while.....also it would be a good time for Crete and the other islands to check on their tsunami evac procedures.

No my friend , the original Greek Atlantis story is the one related by Plato the Greek philosopher , that placed Atlantis beyond the pillars of Hercules in the Atlantic , and has absolutely nothing to do with Santorini . The story to which you refer is a modern concoction .

I dont understand why people don't see the risk of Santorini... if you learned a bit of geography at school you would know that the region is on a moving tectonic plate... volcanoes and earthquakes are all linked on edges of those plates in many parts of the world... I just had to happen and it will always happen...

I would bet that you have never been exposed to a history book. However, Santorini, is certainly not in any remote danger of "exploding" again in the near future. In fact, there is no evidence of volcanic activity under these quakes which are miles away from the remains of the big blast that left a few parts of it above water centuries ago. By the way, read a basic English book and see the description of the apostrophe while you're learning stuff.
