Gameplay guess: just not as powerfully near-infinitely non-damage receiving effects like those surviving Sirius X peoe has, in-game. though the closest that we players can at least feel like the shielding durability feat lf the returning zeniths' back in any horizon game though is the pre-nerfed ultraweaver back in 2017. much stronger of survivability compared to the current shielding percentage of the nerfed state of that old one era armor.

Then by the time they needed to vacate Sirius and escape only 10 of them made it, and those who got aboard and escaped were just a random assortment of Zeniths, and wouldn't have necessarily possessed the skills required to recreate the GAIA they needed - at least that is my understanding and that makes sense to me.

I felt like it worked. Zeniths had been set up as villains in the first game (there’s loads of conflicting reports about their spacecraft) and everything we’d seen up to this point works within the game’s universe. We’d been working on getting the mass produced dinos for like 1/3 of the game. What DID seem like jumping the shark to me (even in this setting) was: Ted Faro - he somehow became an immortal super monster? Zeniths - original guys. It would’ve made more sense to be descendants, not the OGs who screwed everything up Nemesis - bruh wtf, HOW are we supposed to stop a thing that moves faster than light, can destroy planets and effortlessly outsmarted the Zeniths? As soon as it arrives that should be IT to my knowledge, no one can beat that. Every machine on the planet will start going berserk. And apparently it’s vastly more advanced than even completed GAIA.

Ted Faro had the still-being-worked-on immortality treatment done to him, but because it was flawed, it went haywire once the scientist he had on hand committed suicide. Nemesis deconstructed all that because it was composed of the minds of those who wanted an even greater immortality, and so it knew all the base codes, which the Zeniths never bothered to change. Allowing it to take control of the base and kill everyone except those few who managed to escape. Which should say something about the limits of its capabilities. (It could only do anything to Gaia at all because Hades had the ability to override Gaia. Meaning it couldn't override her directly. Meaning with Hades being out of the picture, there probably little it can do to her.)

Am I the only one that finds this ending to be somewhat underwhelming? Far zenith is portrayed as this unstoppable force throughout the entire game, humans that left earth to come back thousands of years later either highly advanced technology, yet they all die in what feels like seconds. We only really get to see 3 zeniths during the games plot with their main leader Gerard not even getting a boss fight of his own. The rest of the zeniths shown here barely speak a word and pretty much die the moment sylens takes out their shield. Youd just think regardless of no longer having a shield, they could still fly effortlessly and put up a fight with their literal hand plasma cannons... but yeah they just die. I don't mind the final boss since it came with an interesting twist, but for me it was too easy and doesn't even come close to zero dawns final boss being the HADES personal deathbringer a literal walking super tank. I do love the story they've told here so far with horizon, Aloy, GAIA etc, but this ending is just.. meh. At least it sets up a future third game. Hopefully burning shores will have a better ending (have not played the DLC at the time of writing this comment)

Before Earth got mega fucked by Faro, a colony ship departed with all of their tech and a copy of Apollo (the knowledge trove function of Gaia), they would become the Zeniths here. They've been sitting around for like a thousand years being immortal and all while waiting for Gaia to rebuild Earth. Problem is some asshole decided to become digital but failed and turned into Nemesis, the one that gave Hades the kill order to destroy Earth in the first game. The Zeniths here wants to take Gaia and build a world elsewhere. I guess it all boils down to being immortal makes you an asshole.

Love the game, love watching the Zeniths get eaten, but there's one thing about it that bothers me; the clumsy handling of Sylens' device. Given how meticulous he is, it doesn't seem like him to have a battle plan that has him (the only one who knows how to use the device) travel separately from the person carrying the device while just hoping that the Zeniths don't ambush them while they're travelling separately. I don't buy his wanting to keep an eye on Tilda; with her shield up he's helpless against her, so what was he going to do if she did something he didn't like? He also had the device built in such a way that it takes him a fairly long time in safe conditions to power up the device and hope the Zeniths don't blast through/fly around the plot-convenient cover. Hell, he didn't even tell Aloy to buy them some time, which she could have done by pretending to take up Gerard's offer. The clumsiness of activating it just seems like a reason to crowbar in some cheap "will it activate in time????" tension here, which stuck out to me because the writing of the game is generally a lot better than that.

@@quangkhoile6016 I agree it should be unfamiliar to him, which is why I really liked the earlier point in the story where he set the trap that let him test it using expendable rebels before he gambled his own life (unlike the sort of "science genius character" you see in other stories, who builds things perfectly the first time and they always work flawlessly) It's that detail that contradicts what we see here; having shown his foresight and caution in that way with his prototype, it doesn't make sense to me that he wouldn't have made his weapon to be easier to activate and have a better-executed plan for when the stakes are so much higher.

Dude what the f*ck??? I thought this was an edit with Horizon and some other Sci-Fi themed Game for a minute, but now I realize, that's real?? I somehow liked Horizon Zero Dawn for having a unique semi-realistic, post-apocalypse scenario, but somehow the repetitive Gameplay didn't hook me enough to play Forbidden West. Now I see, that I probably missed nothing great. Like, that's what they turned this series into? Aloy fights f*cking levitating people, shooting plasma bolts from their hands now? WTF?!?
