I bought a BCS 853 and many implements from Bob at Emerald Power Tools in Eugene, OR. You remind of him. He's a great guy. You have some great videos. I farm two acres of Alba winter barley, Austrian winter peas and corn for hog feed and forage. My BCS does it all. I sure could use a stationary thresher and a grain drill but at 74 it's not something I can afford. Horribly expensive. Looking forward to the next video.

@@funkidslearning9646 My dad used a mule team back in the 30s and 40s before buying a John Deere at the end of the war when I was born. Of course you can do six acres with a 'walk-behind' but like mules, it takes time. My little farm is 18 acres most of which is still in pasture. I'm converting it to grass hay and field crops. At my age I have a lot of time.

@@eliotness7274 I am interested in bcs but just wondering which model best fits my work such as planting 🌽 and tilling weeds in space of each row and I just need only space of 26" rear tine and less ;not necessary 30" or 33" because the wider it is , the more space of soil it will waste , but at least 13hp, u know which model is best to do about 5-6 acre farming and how different diesel and gas is? Bcs is better or Grillo ?

@@funkidslearning9646 Back in the '70s I bought a used TroyBilt and when it died in the mid '90s I bought a BCS 605. It has an 8 hp Tecumsuh engine and a 24" tiller. After twentyfive years of service it still runs though I've had to replace the magneto and do some other maintenance on it. I bought my BCS 853 late summer 2019 and have a half dozen implements for it including a 30 or 33" tiller: chipper, splitter, subsoiler, cyclebar mower, brushhog mower & blade. The 13 hp engine drives the unit very well although I had to remove the cone clutch because it became stuck during a protracted mowing operation. It was relative easy to remove the clutch and break it free. Because I use several implements, the QuickHitch was well worth the $100 because it takes me just a minute to remove one unit and attach another. On new ground or when a fine tilled earth is required I run the 853 in first gear otherwise I run it in second. This is especially true during ground preparation for field peas, wheat, barley, field corn and transplants. I've never used my 24" tiller with the 853 and imagine that it would till a bit deeper and perhaps even in third gear ... maybe. Third gear is pretty fast but I use it for planting. Like a one-horse plow you need to spend an entire day working up a half dozen acres. When weeding, it will dig pretty deep in second gear unless you set the tiller to as shallow as possible. Third gear will weed great but can also take out a lot of corn seedlings to the inattentive operator. The 605 will work just fine with the 24" tines if I am only weeding. That's my experience. I don't know the engine size on the other BCS tractors other than the outdated 605.

It seems like a good idea but it is really getting to be just to much seems like. It’s much better to have something that does a Great job at what is designed for. I’ve got a 1963 old Troy built Tiller it doesn’t do anything but till , and although it doesn’t do anything else it still does till very well. Very simple gas on it and go to work. I really like the bcs . So many controls and attachments it makes a person wonder how good it will be 50 years from now? It’s a lot of money. I am interested it’s just almost to much for a old man.
