Graduated from high school in 1976!!! I do so thank GOD that I came of age in the "Incomparable" 70s. Musically, it was unparalleled. Every genre of music reached its zenith/epoch!!! Earth, Wind, & Fire, Ohio Players, Isley Brothers, War, Parliament Funkadelics, Chaka Khan & Rufus, Chicago, Brass Construction, Mandrill, Blue Magic, Stylistics, New Birth. There are so, so many others, Patti Labelle and Labelle, not to mention other individual artists. Also, urban contemporary jazz, Herbie Hancock, Grover Washington, Ronnie Laws, Eloise Laws, Donald Byrd & The Blackbyrds, Jazz Crusaders, Roy Ayers, John Klemmer, Pat Metheny Group, Al Jarreau, Gil Scott Heron--oh so many others!!! The 60s & 80s had slammin artists and music, too!!!

Maurice was a drummer, so when he sings, his phrasing and other vocal nuances are sung like a percussion instrument. Plus, his tone is marvelous. This is what separates him from anyone else and makes his voice so unique. Oh, and he does have vocal range as well.
