I honestly enjoy all the versions of this song, it's generally a dope song. Also, i think both the genesis/CD version work better for the Down the tubes while the snes version fits Level 5 more.

The intro synth in the background with the bassline is pretty similar to the original version though at least in my opinion.

It really sounds like the bass channel was recorded in its entirety for this, the mid point bass instrument still has that distinct ssg envelope sound

I could be wrong, but I think the special edition OST was the original source versions before being converted for the SNES and Genesis.

@Layne Krusz Not impossible; but tough yes. You really had to learn to navigate the maze well. But also there was a shortcut where the caged gerbil was where you could skip that part and have a bonus race against psycrow instead

Ewj had one of the most boss sound tracks of the 90s, it really helped drive a more adult theme and complemented the artwork and craziness of the level design as well.
