Josephine has a lovely warm, full sound. Only the solos could be a little more sparkling. Delphina sounds much closer than the other microphones. Louise sounded too thin for me. Based on this recording, I would go for a Josephine (if possible in the Myrtle design). I have seen many great artists with these mics on youtube for years. But I only saw once a singsongwriter live with this mics in Switzerland. The sound was much more authentic than the other artists with pickups and close mics. Very nice microphones. I hope to own one myself soon. Great Work!

Josephine has my ❤! Much better Bass and Mid response because we can here the bass much better but ive seen matched pairs of Edwinas used on acoustic guitar, banjo, mandolin and they sound incredible!

Just recorded a bluegrass artist where I put my Delphina up against a Rode NT1, a Lewitt LCT 240 and a Lewitt 140 Air to compare. To my surprise and disappointed the Delphina wasn't as great as I expected. I never used the track in the final mix. It may be good for live performances, however not for recording.

Josephine seemed to be consistently warm and full bodied sounding but they all sound great. Are they all cardioid?

Josephine is supposed to sound identical to Louise I think, but in this recording I find Josephine to be warmer and more full bodied like you're describing. My favorite of these, followed by Delphina.

I agree 100% Josephine sounded warm and full bodied, I liked that mic the best, to my ears it was the best.

Edwina has a closer sweet spot, so is harder to use in a full band context like this. Edwina’s a fantastic spot mic on instruments, great on vocals, and can work for a duo using the mic closely. Thanks for listening!
