Not that I’m a Dr , although I have watched many keratosis obturans removals . The pick is always used to loosen the dead skin to make removal easier. Well done as usual.

That's right. Removing keratosis obturans is extremely painful. We loosen the earwax using the hook while immersing the whole ear in anasthetic fluid to manage the pain. Thank you for your kind word despite all the hate comment 😁

A scoop is used for wax. These are ribbons of dead skin, a condition called keratosis obturans. You can tell by how it appears to be "encased" in a white, puffy layer which is dead skin that has not oxidized yet. The darker center is full of very tightly packed ribbons of dead keratin. He's slicing thru the ribbons with the hook tool so he can suction them out.

And this is a very bad presentation of tiny procedure. I've seen some excellent ones which I've also complimented the Surgeon on. But I say no more for those of you that enjoy tripe like this.

Are you serious??? Could you not see the scrape marks left on the EXTREMELY SENSITIVE inner ear wall?? That's what the microsuction tools are for!!! The patient was probably in so much pain after this back job was done to them... I can't believe the person responsible for this had the nerve to upload this video to KZbin for the world to see!!! Oh my God, how painful was that extraction! I hope you could use local anesthetic here. That Keritas Obrans at 9 O'clock was on it's way to becoming a canal Kleciotoma (spelling ?) or worse. I hope this person comes in every three months or so till the ear can clear itself naturally or it's a quarterly cleaning. I am sure their hearing return was great after the pain and itching subsided. Great job on a tough clean out. I think you speeded up the video at a few points, and it took longer than 15 minutes to clean all that keratin, then the surrounding skin in there extracted. Very good work.
