I was in Corpus Christi, Texas on a vacation when a category 1 hurricane hit. I’m a big fan of intense storms, so I was honestly excited when I heard about it. Needless to say, it wasn’t any fun outside of being the most intense storm I’ve ever seen with my own eyes.

2 things: 1 - hurricanes dont just go from a TS to a C5 in like 3 seconds. 2 - C5s are not expected in November, or if it does, it's just really rare.

Generally, a hurricane will be stronger the longer it’s been over the ocean, so a faster moving hurricane is generally going to be a lot lower category.
