The mask trick was great! AE was getting any tracking points on the area past my subject where I wanted the track to be but once I masked out the foreground subject it found tons of points! Thanks!

V. Lachman thanks man :) but there's no way we could have made Light of Hope without our amazing team. While Donnie and I did several jobs on the project & were the creative leads, there's a lot we can't do and we relied on other super talented people for things like sound, music, artwork, acting, action design/editing/VFX, drone shots, makeup FX, and much more.

This lighting in this tut is stellar, btw. I turn off videos almost instantly when the lighting is bad (something I'm still learning how to master as a student of cinematography), but this video was captivating right off the bat. I'm looking for some help, as I've never done 3D tracking....Your video comes closest to what I'm working on than others on line. I'd like to get your feedback. My question is Can I 3D track a video clip, and apply it to a green screen clip of myself which I'm inserting into the clip I'd be tracking? Here's what I'm doing: I'm inserting my self - via Green Screen - behind 2 people in a video clip I already have. I've already rotoscoped the clip, so I have Front and Back layers of the same clip. Putting my clip inbetween adds me to the scene. I need to make myself appear to be in the clip when it pans and not as if I was inserted. Can that be done with an inserted video as I'm mentioning? In doing the rotoscope part, I noticed the pan in this shot and figured I'd have to 3D track my shot to make it appear natural and not as if it was inserted. . The clip I have moves in a slight pan - only takes 1 sec. The camera pans from "Front/Camera Left" to "Front/Camera Center". My goal, is to use the tracking of the scene to match my shot so I appear more like I'm in the shot. Is it possible if I do a fairly static shot of myself, and the 3D tracking of the main clip that I will create the illusion of me being in the original shot. Not sure I can duplicate the pan while shooting my green screen, both in angle and speed. Which would be logical and maybe easier. Thanks in advance for any advice, feedback you can add...(sorry this is a bit long).

My effect has a bit of shake so it doesn't look 100% locked in. How can I adjust this?

NP Films try going back and being more meticulous on the track points and deleting them from any part that has character movement (like not the bg)... if that doesn’t work you can mask out the part that has moving parts (like actors etc), make that a pre-comp, then do all the steps in the tutorial. Create the camera and use that to track everything. Then turn off the masked layer

Thanks for the quick response! And sorry, I forgot to mention some important details. The shot is not moving, but handheld, so it has just a bit of shake. The object I want to stick onto the shot does so, except for a few parts where the shake of the camera throws it off a little.

yea and we'll get to that, but before you learn the Super Saiyan effects, you need to learn how to track your shot. otherwise the VFX won't stay in place

WOW what did I just watch LOL So I need some help. I see I am not hollywood ready. lol. So I am trying to add buildings to video footage shot with my drone. Problem is that the building has a slight drift with the movement of my drone. Can you give me an idiots dummed down list of what I can do to fix the drift?
