That is awesome. When I get around to building our lot out, this will be part of the setting for sure! Nice work!

Hey I get digging in dirt with a lot of rocks! Your project is great but one question are those 6 x 6 posts? If so do you think 4 x 4 would have done the job?
@BenVanKirk5 ай бұрын
You're right. 4x4 post would have been sturdy enough for this project. I used 6x6 post to get a beefier look. Thanks for watching!

@@BenVanKirk Right on, I get that too!

How deep did you dig your post holes, and how long were your posts to start?

8 foot post in the ground about 2 feet. We actually just got hit by hurricane Helene and our lake flooded by 14 feet. I went down to check on the kayak rack and it was completely gone. The next day... the Kayak rack was back! It was fully submerged under water for over 24 hours and is still standing strong as ever. Thanks for watchin!

Thank you! I’m wishing you and yours well, and that’s awesome to hear the rack survived. The video was fun and really well done; it’s the solution I was looking for. I was unaware of the post foam, so thanks for that tip. You convinced me to go beefy as well, 6x6s all the way mate!

I agree it looks awesome & frees up precious dock space...but...hanging & removing kayaks from that rack on steep, uneven ground has to be awkward & less safe than just pushing one off the dock into the lake.

The one side is a little high up, the other side is no problem at all. This was the only space we had available on our property. A flatter yard would be ideal. Thanks for watchin!
