ufortunately the grommet will not let loose no mater how hard i pull the coax from behind the battery (2014 silverado lt). dang metal flange/plate keeps me from getting any sort of trim tool back there to pop it out. at this point i have no choice but to take out the vent on the panel adjacent to the passenger door.

my 2013 has a HUGE male end for the antenna and i cant get my .50cal antenna on it because its to big.... Any ideas?

All you have to do is pull the head off the old one then pull the head off the new one and reattach. Way easier
