That's so cute, you took Tarot Cards to school with you!!!! I took a deck to the hospital when I knew I'd be hospitalized for 3 to seven days. My cards were absconded (it was a Catholic Hospital). When I signed my discharge papers I asked for my cards. The nun discharging me said, "We were hoping you'd forget." I said, "Sad that you'd hope that," then left. I would have loved it if a student brought Tarot Cards to school, I would have asked him/her if they'd like to share for *Show & Tell,* then if the other kids wanted to know move, *we'd study it together.* (That was back in the 80s & 90s and that kind of extemporary interest-based instruction was encouraged. Now, parents would call an *emergency school board meeting!* )

I have an information for you: I bought the Raider-Waite deck and also the book he wrote: It‘s from 1910, and Pamela Colman Smith took only 6 months to design ALL the cards prior to the deck’s and book’s publication!! I hope it helped you!! 😊 I‘m totally hooked on this knowledge, and more than learning how to read cards, it‘s the history behind it and before it, the symbols and archetypes that fascinates me the most! It‘s like a huge history lesson :-) I feel more intelligent already and also feel that I understand the world better (at least all the churches and ancient paintings!!!)

Each card has enough positive and negative aspects to it, such as life, that I don't read the reversals on their own. I can tell what the shadow of the card is by seeing it upright & kinda incorporate everything. So yes I love how you explain reversals. (*I've been reading since I was younger. Wonderful open-mindedness! I love taking all sorts of ideas for a spin as well, in my experience it only makes the experience of life richer and more interesting, but we really don't need to hold on to any belief. This is one of the best videos I've seen to bring it all together conceptually as well as within the scope of multiple traditional influences. I've been studying Shakta tantra (Jai Maa, baby), Sethian Gnosticism (minus the sketchy Jesus to antisemitism pipeline of hating the Saklas), hermeticism, and trying to get into Qabalah, and often get lost in the weeds of how each influences the other. What I believe I have always known and now see confirmed in your explanation is tarot is quite the perfect crossroads of each tradition from which I gather my spiritual knowledge and practice. Wow ! Thanks for saying that reversals are not your thing. I love the quip about telling your cards that you will only be reading upright. I started reading in 1980 and I don't think anyone read that way back then, and I certainly have never needed to use them. I find that, when read in conjunction with the spread, all cards become either negative or positive when in context, so I personally would never get into reversals. TBH, I only learned that the Rider Waite Deck existed a few months ago !!! I've only ever used the Marseille and I think readers can read whatever the rules they set themselves. I'm also a Christian reader. I don't tap into anything supernatural to read, nor do I have spirit guides. I believe wholeheartedly that the cards are a natural force that we can interpret.
