We have our third update to the new collector challenge! We have made some big sales on eBay from the cards we picked up in our previous video, and also were able to grab a few new cards for inventory at a local card shop. While my plan was to hit a local card show this weekend, we moved inventory quicker than I expected, so I decided to check out a new sports cards store while I was traveling for the weekend. While I wasn't able to find a ton, I do think I was able to find at least a few cards we can do well with! But what do you all think? Were these pickups good? Regardless we need to upload them to our eBay store and I want to also show off how I list cards on eBay. While there may be faster ways, I find that this method is the easiest and most efficient without having to invest in outside technology or services. I greatly appreciate this series that you have started. Last year I purchased an LLC as I too would like to start my own card business but yet I have spent the past year thinking I needed thousands of dollars to get started and so although I bought the LLC last year, I have yet to get started with the business because I had the mindset of needing thousands of dollars before I could even get started, but seeing this series, I too am going to set aside $100 and see how far I can get with getting started. I like to do 25-30 cards at a time until I have about 100 cards ready in draft status. I then go in and schedule 5 listings per day so that I’m constantly “feeding” the algorithm without having to “work” every single day of the week. Then all I have to do is worry about shipping, which takes very little time to do.

The ai bulk listing tool via laptop or desk top is the best, I’m able to turn around 50-100 cards a day and takes maybe an hour total including the pictures

Good content. One thing I'd correct is that you absolutely can set your own rate instead of an ebay recommended rate via the app. I promote all my listings at 2% and often do it via the app.

@@CleverCubanCards was just going to comment this! On the app, go into your sellers tab (bottom right), active listings, 3 dots on the right side of the listed item & Edit promoted listing. When the new page pulls up, click the # and change it to whatever percentage you'd like.

@CleverCubanCards KZbin doesn't allow picture replies, but if you choose "select custom ad rate" under the suggested ad rates you can choose your own.

One suggestion for the people that want to sit and bang out a lot of listings is to list the 5 or so then all the others you do leave them as drafts. Then each day you go into the drafts and set 5 to list so you can get that daily listing repetition going.

I'm enjoying these videos. I've never been to Cranks before, but if you're ever in the Chattanooga area again, I would recommend All Star Sports Cards. I'm not local, but I normally stop by a few times a year on my way to Braves games and they have some good Baseball value boxes.

Yeah keep going down this path - I mean I’m a collector fur a few years now but I need to sell and support the hobby so this is great - maybe even showing how you ship out eBay sales (how you pay for shipping , print label , what envelopes you use , comm with the buyers etc ) would be nice to see once you make sales . Then advice on the process .

Do you charge for shipping? If yes, how do you decide what level to charge on each card?

I just do what eBay defaults to which is calculated shipping. As long as your package weight and dimensions are right then it will charge them exactly what the shipping cost is. I just factor the cost of supplies into my pricing

That's fine if it doesn't hinder you. Don't have them end at the same exact time. Put atleast 1 minute intervals so if someone wants to buy multiple lots, they can bid accordingly

@@NathanGignoux yes, don't doubt yourself, either auction or buy it now is fine. As a buyer, I search through both. If you are doing buy it now, maybe post a few more cards but set it with 1 day intervals. So 9 days left, 8 days left, 7 days left etc.. even if it 2 cards per day. Keep up the good work!

I don't think you need to go above and beyond on the blemish highlighting. If it's shown clearly in one of the photos, if a buyer misses it that's on them. If they were to open a case with eBay you have clear evidence that you showed the flaw and eBay should side with you

Show the blemishes, don't lie. Don't deceit. It will only cause headaches. Take it from a veteran .. this is a great channel but he hasn't come across unruly buyers who will complain about everything.. trust me

I've been watching all the videos in this series, very informative! Question: Do you pull up eBay in card shops and comp cards? Do the people working seem to care if you do that? My two closest card shops seem to overprice their singles compared to eBay and I don't want to make a faux pas at them. Thanks!

Yes! Do it at shows, eBay, etc. Everyone does it even though it may seem awkward. I try to be as nice as possible and say something along the lines of hey I've had my eye on this card for a while now, I was looking on eBay and there are copies available at $X is there any chance you're flexible on price? If they say no I will just say I totally get it, much more overhead running a real shop vs. someone listing it online, plus end of the day your card your price thanks!

I personally don't really do it, I feel like it actually hurts you in the long run as you have a higher sticker price that people see and on first glance it looks like you're more expensive

Again, I disagree, I know a buyer will look at the cost a whole, shipping or no shipping fee. The real problem is sending the item in the wrong envelop or delivery package and then when it arrives, the buyer is charged extra shipping. Most veteran buyers knows how much it is for shipping.

Under $20 and I use the eBay standard envelope to make it cheaper. Over $20 I use ground advantage unless it's a higher end card. When selling something that goes through eBay authentication I do small priority flat rate box for speed and protection

I get confused with the autographs and what is the value. Like right now I have a Freddie freeman auto card from archives 2023 and I can’t find a match to get the pricing. What do you do in those instances?

Great question! Yes I always enable offers, depending on the card sometimes I'll set a minimum offer, but as I mentioned I'm not one to take a win and move on, so if coming down a few dollars can get the sale done I'm all for it!

I actually disagree with setting a minimum offer, it prevents you from being able to engage with an interested buyer. Won't see me disagree that I can still lean lots of things! Big believer in life long education will never feign that I know everything. But I also feel like with all your comments disagreeing, you discount my experience selling cards. While this series is a new collector challenge I've been in the game for very long and I sell cards full time.

For the promoting, you can change the value on an Android platform. It allows you to just click in and change it right from the listing so you can avoid the extra step.
