This is by far the best quiz tutorial that I have come across. Thank you so much for your attention to details and you answered questions that I couldn't find the answers to elsewhere. I wish I came across this a year ago.

This is the closest to a question bank with a different set of questions for each group. I am really thankful to Mrs. Ptarleton.

Hi Mrs. P! Great tutorial! Do you know if there is a way for Forms to randomly assign testtakers to multiple versions of the tests? I want to create randomly assigned groups, but do not have the means to randomize, as mine's going to be distributed online. So basically I'm looking for the in-Forms version of giving out plaing cards randomly.

@balintbarcsak4732 Im not sure I full understand, let me know if I didn't answer your question...in Google forms if you follow the steps in video it will assign different test to different test takers. You can create as many tests versions as you'd like.

Question: How do we get an accurate grade if it shows a grade for all 3 sections? Thanks!
@MrsPTarleton Жыл бұрын
@jamiestevenson5971 In my grade book I put actual number of points possible for 1 section. Each section is worth same amount of points. Then enter number of points student scored in gradebook. Ex each section worth 10 points so total possible will show 30 on the form. I ignore the 30 and enter points possible as 10 in gradebook. Form shows how many each student got correct it it shows 7 out of 30 you know it's 7 out of 10. Enter 7 in your gradebook. Hope that clarifies. Let me know if this helps.

Thank you so much.. can I create key answers for each shuffled version so I correct based on them
@MrsPTarleton Жыл бұрын
Yes you can! But generally I grade in the spreadsheet afterwards, as I found that if it is set to auto grade the students know how to read the code and get the answers.

Good tutorial. But the students can go back to the "suit of card" question and choose a different version of the quiz? Can we prevent that?
@MrsPTarleton Жыл бұрын
@shafman Thank you. I am not sure we can fully stop students from cheating. I also don't tell students they get different versions based on the one question. Also I give many options to try and prevent cheating. You could also randomize the answer choices. Hope this helps.

I have older students, some of whom will definitely try going back and forth to see which version of the test is easiest, so they can choose that one! The only way I have come up with to solve that problem is to start with the same quiz, and have everyone enter their names and periods only. Then, in the "confirmation message," have three different links, each going to a different version of the quiz. Even that is not foolproof, so an alternate (better but more complicated) way is to put the quiz links on a shared Google doc, viewable (but not editable) by students. Once everyone has gotten started with the quiz, simply delete all the links from that Google doc. Don't tell them you are going to do this, or they might copy and paste! In all honesty, what I usually end up doing is to create a different version of the quiz for every class I teach. That seems to be the best way to prevent cheating. All ways to prevent cheating take a lot of work, so good luck to you!

Hi! When someone goes to look at their response, it shows both versions of the quiz. How can I prevent that? Thank you!
@MrsPTarleton9 ай бұрын
Unfortunately you cannot correct the auto grading. I usually issue grade separately in the gradebook. The other option is to tell students how many points possible on test and they can divide their score by points possible. Hope that helps.

Don't send them a copy of their responses until everyone has taken the quiz.
