My God! This guy is in a war zone! Yet he still had time to teach us this Zep bend! Amazing man!

Great video on the zeppelin bend! Definitely one of my faves, since it's so strong and so easy to untie! A true beauty. If you want an even stronger knot, wrap each tail an additional time through the middle hole, to make a double zeppelin bend! Cheers

Thanks for the video. I didn't know that this knot is called Zeppelin. I called it Yin/Yang knot because the knot is balanced and opposite direction forces. I read somewhere also that it is also called a "Poorman" knot. Thanks again.

I like the name yin/yang knot- very fitting!

You made an easy to tie even easier, and so much more fun.

Those are good comments. I totally agree with number 2. Not being able to see which ends are which (standing and working) has made knot tying instructions in books, and videos, difficult to follow. Although I must say, I found this video to be very clear and, as promised at the begining, this was one of the most exciting knot videos I've seen!

The method that is the easiest to follow starts at 2:22

I love this knot but for the life of me I cannot follow your instructions. You are too fast for me!! and I can't see enough of the rope ends to learn the moves.

SNO man could you please explain its advantage over square/reef knot. Any other application? Your action is pretty good like watching a holywood movie. Thanks

This wont slip and is easy to untie. Square knots will slip and have caused more deaths than all other knots combined. Source: 3d knot app.

Very nice explanation - I like the part that starts in 2:22 - so easy to demonstrate to my sons that even Yavor (3 yrs old) have learned how tie it!

I like what you have done, perhaps it is the best way but I form a loose overhand so tht it looks like an eight on its side with the working end pointing down to the ground, thread the other line up through the left hand ear then back and under itself and feed it up through the two loops formed so that it is parallel and alongside the working end of the other line. That's pretty easy and fast. The Zepplin loop can be formed in the same way just using one line. Although I like your method I think mine may be easier, but it could be just what you get used to. The Zepplin is perhaps the best bend, and loop, very secure and easily undone.

I tried for at least an hour to follow the process described : I was not able to duplicate his procedure after about 1:52. The method starting off with the bights is similar to the 69 method and did work for me. But there are other versions of the 69 method out there that are easier and quicker to learn in my opinion! I am still looking for a 'quick' version of tying this knot : that is, a method where I don't have to lay the ropes flat!

Have a look at my comment and give it a try. You may find it easier and quick.

@PK102260 Thanks PK! If it weren't for viewers like you, I wouldn't bother. I'm taking extraordinary steps to keep them coming for you... Since the movie I'm working on is taking so much time, I've got some additional crew working on making these vids... But I'll still be doing some of them myself!

Four and a half minute clip. Actual instruction of quick-tie method thirty seconds. Two camera cuts. Hands and ends of rope moving around outside image. Dislike!!!

I tried following this several times, with pause, and it never came out the way you showed. Some magic happens between 1:56-2:02 and I can't follow it. I finally gave up.
@noglobe41055 жыл бұрын
Just make a right underhand loop with one end and a left overhand loop with other end. Lay left overhand loop onto of right underhand loop. Put tails through loops in opposite directions = zeplin bend

Couldn't follow the fast method, it moved to fast to just mirror your movements and following step-by-step was impossible because your hands are in the way.

Hey SNO Man, LIKE; but camera angles & speed at 1:58 min & 3:20 min are confusing to me (even when I stop the action incrementally). The edited close-up made it worse for me. Production suggestions to make your video cleared to me: (1) shoot over your shoulder to see knot develop as the tyer sees it (2) don't get so close that the bitter ends disappear and look just like the standing ends (3) use super slow motion during twisting/turning moves (4) use contrasting colors for bends.

Anyone can use the 6 and 9 method in their hands to make it. You don't have to do it on the ground. Sheesh. Your method is just another way of doing it. Either way it is the King of the Bends that's for sure!
