Easily build a toon shaded wave in Cinema 4D

Hey there. I love going through your tutorials. I'm having trouble figuring out how to make the foam the other way, instead of using the plugin. He says it could be done with a selection and a field, which will then drive the cloner. A selection tag or a vertex tag? How does one set that up?

I've just tried Magic Projector but it doesn't seem to work in S24.

In case anyone tries this without the plugin and has a hard time with the foam - the Volume Mesher needs to be parented to the Linear Field. Otherwise, the spheres will be under the wave and then jump to the top but they won't show in your render. Here's my final: kzbin.info/www/bejne/n5vHeJ2Jjq-La5I

Hi there! I am using s24 and magicprojector no longer works there. I tried using c4d bridge to bring the plugin to s24 but it doesnt function at all. Could you explain or show a tutorial on how to use a selection tag and field to put the cloner on top of it?

To emphasize, it's pretty easy getting the volume mesher to follow the waves (by parenting the bubbles to the waves) but because the waves are deformed, the bubbles won't deform according to the shape of the wave, which means the waves are wavy while the bubbles are a straight line, how can I solve this?

Hey, thanks for the tutorial. I would like to know what is the Point Object field used for? I see you are using it on subtracting mode on your wave deformer, but I can't figure out what it does, could you explain? Cheers

Thanks! A point object field uses the points of an object as a field. I'm actually not using that one though. I was initially using a cylinder as the field, but I went with a linear field instead.
