Just found that the fish hatchery only works with the original fish and not the anniversary fish if you don't have and mods. Maybe the unofficial patch fixed this but not on unmoded.

You do have to use the fishing rod to fish up the unique rings and other items

It’s how you catch catfish IRL. The technique is called noodling and it’s intense. You basically stick your hand and arm up to your shoulder inside their burrow, they bite down on it, and you yank them out that way.

Since Frostfall and now survival mod I only play Skyrim in those modes so... it is faster but I have my fishing rod with me too, sometimes I get some fish out of a good shot of luck and the weather conditions, if you take into consideration I can die from frostbite but I already got an Angler larvae from my fishing rod which was my greatest concern when I saw the video.

Actually, you can put slaughterfish eggs in the hatchery and they will hatch into slaughterfish. You can also mount slaughterfish on the plaques but can't put them in the tank

You forgot to mention that if you enter the Ancestor Moth Cave before the quest, the game spawns in several SPRIGGAN EARTH MOTHERS as soon as you enter, so you better be ready to run.

Few findings I discovered: - Brook Bass can be also found in the rivers beside the fisherman's camp near the 3 starter Standing Stones - Catfish can also be found in the docks near South Brittleshin Pass (which also happens to be near the Bleak Falls Barrow exit) - Pygmy Sunfish can also be found in some of the sulfur geyser pools in the Eastmarch area, its even explicitly stated in the book "Fishing Mastery, v2"

Loved this guide. FYI....if you swim around the island of Volkihar, along the northern end, you will find at least 2 schools of pearl fish as long as you do not disturb the class. Also, if you keep looping around, at least 1 school respawns by the time you get back.

I've found a juvenile mudcrab on left of the riverwood bridge, just on the rocks where the stream from from the bleak falls barrow mountain meets the river. Also a few glassfish in lake Ilinalta.

If you're playing with the cold survival turned on, be sure and get the boots of waterwalking from the Dragonborn DLC. That way you can wade out into the ankle deep water, crouch down and scoop up the fish without submerging yourself in the ice cold water. You won't be able to reach very far into the water, but it's a lot better than freezing if you don't have to.

You can always find goldfish in the pond in front of cave where you find the Ruin’s Edge bow. I forget it’s name. The one right next to the Eastmarch Imperial Camp. Pearlfish can be found at the northern end of Volkihar island. Also, the only way I know to catch a slaughterfish is to catch it with a rod, and they seem to be most common in Lake Ilinalta and off the Riften Docks.

While swimming around CV getting vampire fish, I came across 3-4 small schools of Pearl fish in the underwater cliffs, roughly 15-30 feet(5-10 meters) down, randomly around any clams.

You can find some spadefish in the river flowing down from purewater run, follow the river and you'll see them eventually, also the river directly north of karthwasten and south of the reach stormcloak camp has some pogfish in it, the river at the guardian stones going down to riverwood has brock bass in it, the pond with the skeleton at dragonsreach has some carp swimming about there, the river by anga's mill has some cod in it

Hey, I fished out the angler fish early in the game at the little island fishing spot, next to Ivarstead - there are two spots on the left side of Rift fishing map. Also, I fished out from Rift docs a ring that when I put it on while fishing it starts to rain that helps with catching rainy fish quickly. I actully did not know angler was a rare fish as I got it so early lol

I think the guide is for 100% spawn spots, not where things might possibly spawn if you get lucky. I took a lot of different fish out of Lake Ilinata, but some didn't spawn very often. Yes, I spent too long fishing but I found it relaxing. Even caught some decent bits of armor or arms, but mostly 'normal' fish (LOTS of River Betty, which is great if you are an alchemist) and flagons, lanterns, etc.

Another school of 3 Pearlfish West-NorthWest of Orphan’s Tear. From the Northside of the lit cabin, go West-Northwest over 3 smaller sand bars. When you get over the 3rd, there will be 2 clams on the shore and the Pearlfish close by.

Stony Creek Cave have two groups of three goldfish in the pond there 😌 Update one: I found more goldfishes for in a lake just a little northwest from Cradlecrush Rock I also found a single Direfish inside Darkshade

At my pace as I like roaming the world. Soooo glad we can breed them! This channel has been informative... for future videos maybe a continuation of your missed details and a few on mods that work with the latest upgrade to Skyrim? My personal preference for mods would be player homes or upgrades to player homes that allow for organization or offer a bennifit to game play / help with hard to get items/ safe storage things don't disappear from Invincible horses that COME when called or have a marker Follower upgrades such as making them essential preset load outs carry wt bonus or allowing multiple followers Family - moving them to any home allowing multiple pet adoption (ie Meeko and Vigilance) more than 2 children ect Farming meaning being able to assign tasks such as finding ore to an NPC

Found some Spadefish in the same water as the Pogfish near the Salvius Farm in Markarth. Their is a waterfall tucked away behind some rocks and that's where they were.

Another spot for goldfish is Stony Creek Cave south of Mzulft and I’ve actually caught Arctic Char in Pilgrim’s trench when I was swimming down for the Angler and angler Larve. You can find them swimming in the ship debris floating around the sunken hulks.

It took me about 6 hours to go through the entire Fishing questline thanks to this video. Very well made. However, I would hold off the fishing questline until you played the rest of the game for some time, since having access to all the cities and many of the landmarks around the map help. * I found the Vampire fish where you said they were (I did not find a Vampire fish in Embershard Mine that some mentioned, possibly because I use the Yuriana mod). * You sometimes have to use the fishing rod anyway for some item quests. To do so you equip the rod, sheath your hands, then activate the fishing spot (took me awhile to figure that out). I was able to do so, and tried the Fishing in Skyrim VR mod but I actually do not think you need it. * The quest with Mila is incompatible with Immersive Citizens. Use the Citizens configuration tool you have been given (in your inventory) and disable it after you talked with her and it will fix things for you. * If you use Open Cities you might need to upgrade to 1.7. I was able to bypass most of the issues through using the console and teleport to the "alternate" cities to resolve the first issues but eventually I was forced to use 1.7 for the last quest.

Blackreach; if u have not unlocked the quest yet, u can get into black reach by going to the Tower of Mzark and doing the wooden plate glitch. (Wooden plate against door + whirlwind sprint = entry). Will not work at Afthand Lift because it will "lack power" to go down the elavator. Also, I was able to activate clams/mussle in the hatchery as well for another supply

Also, you can find carp at dragonsreach in Whiterun too. It’s the water underneath the bridge at the entrance where you’ll find a dead skeleton, Nordic barnacle clusters, salmon too

When I've seen fish (or butterflies) "despawning" in Skyrim, it looks more like they are glitching below the terrain than actually disappearing. Your mileage may vary.

Yeah friends the goldfish is also in any pond just look. I'm pretty sure there's one in the rift at Clearspring Tarn too and for the Artic Char you can also get it on the River that flows to north in the eastmarch use the bridge that connects to the Windhealm stables for reference, is quite an easy swim

Juvenile mudcrabs were actually added with the Dragonborn DLC But I've only ever found like 1 maybe 2, now playing again after a few years I was pretty surprised seeing them in Skyrim. Huh, got curious as to how many there were in vanilla, and surprisingly, if you google it, there's not a single mention of that on the internet, only links about CC content. Even checked esm files throuh the SSEEdit - they don't exist anymore, really weird, but it seems that they've got deleted at some point :/ Maybe they weren't an ingridient back then, that is one thing I do not remember for certain. Will have to check it myself when I get to Solstheim I suppose.

There are some cool rings that you can get by fishing too! I got a ring of the wind (+25% mov speed), mentors ring (all spells cost 10% less) and ring of kynareth (same effect of the lucky hat)

Dude ikr, the very first ring I pulled up was literally 20% resist spells, shock and poison? I didn't even know that was possible to get three on one ring, I'm only level 13 now and I'm a two handed tank so very useful!

These spawn locations are SPOT ON. found the codfish and pogfish exactly where he said. Also, you can put slaughterfish in the hatchery as well if you catch them. You can also mount them on the plaques if you want a slaughterfish, but for some reason you can't put them in the large tanks

Goldfish: Clearpine Pond usually has 6, and an alchemist's corpse on the island with a dadera heart and other goodies. But it's bait, when you search their pockets or basket two spriggans will spawn. But also 6 can be found in the pond in front of the Talos shrine just east of Cradlecrush Giant camp. No baddies lying in wait.

Another location for pearl fish is just northeast of High Gate Ruins in the little bay created by the largest Island was fishing for salmon roe and stumbled across three of them.

After you stock the fish hatchery if you use the shout marked for death towards the fish (it will take several times and a little moving around to get them all) they will die and all float towards the net. It also kills the dragonflies before they fly away making it easy to retrieve those as well.

I love how I went to look for a video for fishing and not only did it help me . But I learn about another breathe underwater item. But I still think the Dragon mask volsung is better. Not only can you breathe underwater but prices are 20% better and you can carry 20% more.

I found pogfish and spade fish in the river right by markarth. Just check the first 2-3 main pools. Start up by the wall of the city and follow the waterfalls down.

Once you've put all gish in the hatchery, simply wait two days inside and they all spawn. Use a shout or Icd Storm on the surface and all fish plus dragonflies flying over it will die and you can harvest them. Then get in and back out of the manor to have them all respawn immediately.

The unnamed lake just behind Mara's Eye Pond has 3 clusters of 3 Goldfish as well.

There are two arctic char at castle volkihar on the west side, jump in by the ship wreck water fall, also the juvenile mud crab can be found on the little island in maras eye pond right next to the boat. I'll edit as I find more.
