bro i’m scared i’ll drain the transmission oil instead of the engine oil

I was skeptical about doing my own oil changes before watching your video. Now I’m pissed that I let them gank me out 50 extra bucks, thank you!

great job. you have more of a vested interest in doing things right on your own car. saves you money and you likely use a better quality oil and filter anyway.

Thanks for the tip on the oil cooler gasket! Much appreciated

Sure thing, if you have a drip, hopefully that's all it is for you too.

Just did mine the other day, went to double check the sump plug then realised probably could do it without lifting the car, just feel for the screws once you know whats there

Yeah, it’s too bad. They didn’t make that rectangular hole in the cover wide enough. It’s such a pain to take off that cover each and every time.

Would have been nice for the designers to think of the workers aye?

Just curious, why 10w30 over 5w30?
@wellingtonviking Жыл бұрын
Hey there, I thought I replied to this a bit ago, but maybe I didn't hit the final button. Either oil weight will work as per the owner's manual. I started using 10w30 when some small drips started as it's a little thicker when cool. After replacing the oil cooler washer /gasket the drips stopped, but I just stuck with 10w30 as she's an old girl now, and she seemed to like the 10w30.

Are you supposed to use a crush washer or is it just this car
@wellingtonviking6 ай бұрын
There are different rules for different cars, and different crush washers for different cars. Some people will reuse the old crush washer, but it's worth a few pennies to me to make sure it's done correctly and it won't leak: no one likes to go back under the car only to find a drip that could have been prevented by a little crush washer.

Thanks for noticing. I can't take too much credit for it though as we live on a paved roads and the city doesn't salt around here in the winter.

My dipstick has oil all the way up-and-down it.
@wellingtonviking6 ай бұрын
Sounds like it's been overfilled. make sure you actually drained the engine oil and not the transmission fluid by accident (I've seen this done before at a commercial lube shop)
@andrewaguirre78726 ай бұрын
@wellingtonviking o ok thats what I was thinking
@wellingtonviking6 ай бұрын
@@andrewaguirre7872 did you find out if the transmission fluid was accidentally drained or how the oil was so full?

@@wellingtonviking I don't think so
